Re: Lakers vs. Jazz Series Thread (Lakers up 3-1) Ariza is playing tonight, Luke won't be. The Lakers need to be prepared for a quick start by Utah. I expect the Jazz to compete in the 1st half, but if the Lakers can take a solid lead into halftime then the Jazz should fold in the 2nd half. Lakers need to make a statement to themselves about being able to close a team out and not give Utah any hope for coming back. With the recent minor injuries and heavy minutes logged by the starters, they could certainly use the rest. I look for Kobe to get his teammates going in this game. They needed his brilliance on the road, but the supporting cast plays much better at home and shouldn't have to rely on Kobe having another career night. I'd like to see Bynum give us some meaningful minutes tonight as well. We need his confidence with the potential match up with Yao. He needs to refrain from picking up dumb fouls and get a rhythm going on the court.

Bottom line is we're gonna need him to play a big role if we want to win a championship. Let him get all the shit out of the way now so it doesn't hurt us later.
