Combination of both. Medical staff might not have the final say but they also wouldn't leave it up to LMA totally if they thought it would be a huge detriment more to the injury.
It's his left thumb. If he can catch the ball what's the problem? He doesn't even shoot with his left hand on the ball. http://jawzone.com/sites/default/files/jaws/photos/lamarcus aldridge.jpeg
My initial reaction was not good, but I actually love this. Think about it. The Blazers organization, LMA, and the Dr.'s wouldn't even give him an option or allow it if he could really mess it up. This also shows LMA's commitment to us by playing through it, since he doesn't have to. And I think this will give us a much needed boost, energy wise etc. the team has got to be feeling deflated this last week or two. I'm all for this. Let's go LMA!!
Its a ligament tear in his non shooting hand. In the 80's this would be an offseason surgery. Props to Aldridge for standing up like a fucking man!
Medical staff usually has the final say if its a very serious injury. This one could be catagorized as serious but since its not his shooting hand they probably left it up to LMA to decide.
According to Jabari Young....Aldridge will postpone the entire surgery until the end of the season....will play the remainder of the season with the tear
Rhetorical question bro. The point is you can't expect him to play as well with only 1 hand. He better not be trying to block shots with his left. I think they should actually tie it behind his back to prevent him from irritating the injury.
