Not to say this is the whole reason but getting picked might be part of the reason he also wants to play. If he gets picked he can still bow out and call himself an all-star. I would think he doesn't play.
Gerald Green has 4 fingers on his shooting hand. And you don't block shots with your thumb. You can rebound without a thumb. Think about it.
FUCK YES IM NO LONGER DEPRESSED I TAKE BACK MY POSTS FROM THIS MORNING. GO BLAZERS REP THAT RIP CITY. CHAMPIONSHIP MOTHER FUCKERS. MAGS KISS YOUR HOT WIFE FOR ME.
Batum played through a broken finger did he not? That's worse than a thumb since you rely on fingers more.
I've had torn ligaments in my thumb playing football. Still feel it Everytime I catch a ball 10 years later because I never got it taken care of. Doesn't affect me though. Just an annoyance more than anything.
I thought this was an April Fools Joke and the I remembered it wasn't April Fools. Thank god. Great news. But I hope it's not a mistake prolonging this decision. Like deciding not to do it and in two weeks coming to the realization it had to be done. 6 weeks is a long time but there was still some time there to get ready for the playoffs.
Is your whole skit going to be "LMA should have played through this to begin with, its not a big deal". Because that really seems to be all your posting about in this thread.
The are no assurances of how effectively, or how long, Aldridge can play with the injury, but there’s belief in the Portland organization that the long-term risk of this decision is minimal. Aldridge would’ve been required to wear a splint even after returning from surgery, sources told Yahoo Sports, so allowing him to try playing now isn’t believed to hold significantly more consequences. http://yhoo.it/1CP6dQU
I think there taking the approach of..... why not try it out for a game or 2... if it's too painful or effects his game too much, get surgery.... If not then play ball!
Wow, I really hope they know what they're doing. I wanted him as close to 100% in the playoffs so I'm a little nervous about this. But if the medical staff think the risk of making it worse is minimal and he can play like an all-star, sounds good to me.
