And how is this related to the current issue at hand with these troublesome ducks? Sounds like tangents and cloudiness around your duck fans are causing you not to be concerned about this issue.

I wait to say anything cause I dont know the facts of what happened. But yes if true I think he should be punished to the full extent of the law and more. And yes if true it is much MUCH worse than what Blount did I agree to this.

so I was reading these quotes from a post on O-live... I'm not sure if they are true or not.

if they are true... how is that any different that Kelly and Riley? I post this cause of the argument earlier on who is worse etc.

Producing NFL players has nothing to do with a programs success. Ask Syracuse about that. I can name multiple great NFL player who went to Syracuse. They haven't had a good program in years. I always love the "well look how many players are in the NFL" argument.

I'm not avoiding the issue, I accept the issue. I have issue with LaMichael James incident, but for Masoli's there really isn't enough evidence for me to go one way or the other. As for the kicker getting in fights, so be it, they are 18-22 year olds, that tends to happen. Players getting into trouble hasn't stopped many programs from being good. Miami, Florida St., Penn St. have all had troubles with players and it didn't effect their program.

In UO and OSU's case, you bring kids from the inner city to any podunk town there is bound to be some kind of trouble at some point. All college athletes at that level have a target on their back.

I never said it has anything to do with the Ducks. I was saying why it will always be funny and brought up. How many times do you hear about a football player getting drunk and stealing a gay sheep. Its just funny. I bet people will remember it 20 years from now and still think its funny.

Why not wait to pass judgment and make decisions on what team sanctioned punishments should be until we get further into the legal proceedings.

The criminal standard of proof is a beyond reasonable doubt standard. I think that you can penalize based upon your internal investigation. But, yes, I would wait to see what the criminal investigation indicates.

Edit: To clarify -- I was just asking Wheels if the allegations were proven to be true what he thought the punishment should be. I am not saying there should be a punishment issued right now.

Mysoginst? [zagsfan] A woman got beaten? Oh well, it's not like there aren't a bunch of other football programs out there with players beating up women. It's just the cost of top recruiting.. No big deal.[/zagsfan]

I wasn't there, so I can't help you there. Zagsfan is acting as if the allegations are true, but doesn't seem to care that it happened. To me, that's bizarre to say the least.

Well its obvious that those OS players made it to the NFL, since UO has better better facilities, more success, more media coverage, $$, better program, etc. As so you so point out. However, your "valid argument" is stupid because OS is beyond a mediocre program within the past 10 years as they have shown with multiple bowl appearances. The OS football program has changed and you are so naive of the progress that has made within the past 10 years.

Another reason why theres more OS players in the NFL league now is because OS staff has made these 3 or 4 star players believe in themselves and they have proven beyond what everyone has expected of them and they get drafted. Zagsfan, your arguements are so judgemental by your cloudiness of your UO duck family that you don't see the big picture that UO football program could lose some key recruits because of these multiple actions by its players.

The same way I don't care about any teams off-field transgressions outside of the Blazers, Zags and Cardinals.

I sympathize for the girl and think less of James if he's proven guilty. Which hasn't happened yet.

Bowl appearances these days is equivelant to an NCAA basketball team making the tournament. Sure its a little impressive that you had a winning record, but don't hang your hat on that as some sort of accomplishment that should be lauded. Simply generating players that make great pro's in the NFL has no correlation to how good the program is. As I noted, Syracuse has produced Dwight Freeney, Marvin Harrison, Donovan McNabb, Keith Bulluck, Will Allen.... They haven't won a noteworthy bowl game in years.

I don't think a kid getting into trouble will affect recruiting too much.
