Maybe that's true - like I said, I haven't paid attention to him. However, his last two seasons with IND he sported a better FG% than LMA, so he can't be that bad offensively.

And a much much better FG% than Batum! Since you are full Batum homer, I can see why you want to take a chance with Lance, who is shooting a dismal 38% from the field

And JJ Hickson got gaudy rebounding numbers... It's how you amass the stats. lance plays hero ball A LOT.

Yep. Kobe is awful. 38% from field. 27% from 3. Most people would get benched for shooting that badly.

I'm not saying that the guy that we trade for has to be a 3 pt specialist. I think we need a slasher who can create his own shot. But, if we're looking for an upgrade over what we have, he should be able to shoot from the perimeter as well. After all, Will is the very definition of a guy who can slash and create his own shot. It's his lack of a perimeter game (and his porous defense) that keeps him on the bench.

Your posts are awful. I'm really doing my best not to put you on ignore. Please stay on topic and stop trying to skewer people for their opinions and thoughts - which you wholly misrepresent in your vain attempt at "gotcha" posting.

It would certainly be nice to have someone who can slash AND shoot, but we shouldn't turn away a good slasher just because they don't have a 3-point shot.
I get what you're saying about Barton, but I think there's a world of difference between Stephenson and Barton.
Again, I'm not trumpeting the idea of getting Stephenson, just speaking more broadly on the "Stotts' System" - there are so many posts about anybody we trade for needing to be a good jump shooter because of Stotts, and I think that's pure folly. If Stotts is a good coach he should be able to figure out how to use a slasher in his offense.

No, I brought up LMA to address your comment that Lance is offensively awful. It wasn't a "dig"; it was a comparison to show that - while, yes, Lance is currently awful - he is not nearly as bad as you proclaim him to be.

My comment must have struck a nerve if you felt you had to return "the favor". However, your "favor" inspires no emotion - negative or positive - in me as I am not a "full Batum homer" as you seem to think. I simply understand what Nic is and isn't, and am fine with what he does for the team. His shooting is awful this season, I have no problem admitting that (because it's a fact, not an opinion). Some people are unable to admit that facts are facts, and instead try to argue that red is blue, black is white, and up is down.

Gotta say, it might be the first time anyone has compared a player offensively to LMA in an attempt to use LMA to bolster the player's case for not being horrible. It's not wrong per se, just the way this forum runs, I expected that to be a dig at LA.

I agree that we should get great players and let Stotts adjust his system. Neil should be worried about talent and chemistry, not "the system".

    That said.

    Lance is a cancer.

    Lance is a ball-hog.

I do not want Lance on my team because he plays hero ball and I hate watching some bench guy freeze out teammates so he can try and win the game himself (e.g., Crawford, Mo)... even if that sometimes works, it's not good for chemistry or maximizing overall team talent.

I would do it if they would take Dorell, Robinson, and clever. Trade a pile of shit for a high risk player. It could pay off.

And THAT'S a solid reason for not wanting Lance.
I do think there are much better options out there - although whether they're actually options [ie, are they available?] may be the issue. Also, the only "wings" I can really think of - that are semi-realistic - happen to be SGs rather than SFs, which means we either squeeze CJ out of the rotation or stand pat and hope that CJ can actually fill his role.

Well, in all honesty, except for buying Ray Allen, any wing we get would probably cost us CJ.

It doesn't strike a nerve with me, but it obviously did with you. You threatened to block me for using the very same tactic on you. I was simple "returning what you dished". Guess that didn't taste well with you.

As far as your attempt to not make it a dog on Aldridge, there were other posters that saw the same thing. I guess if you didn't intend, you did a poor job.

Getting back to the topic... Lance was good when he was a role player. But looking at his trend, he is becoming worse at shooting each season, while being even a bigger jackass.

If you are trader bob, you'd be down with this idea. If you care about the team, you would react the way 99% in here do.

    Hell fucking no!

^^^Whatever dude. Once again nothing you wrote made any sense in relation to what transpired. Just stick to the topic at hand rather than trying to bring your cockamamie arguments and pre/ill-conceived notions into it and we'll be fine.

Come on guys... we all agree (BGD isn't in the thread, is he?) that Lance is poison... let's just put away the tiny knives.

He led the league in triple doubles last year. I would take a flyer on him for a pile of steaming shit.
