Language? Cussing and Swearing

Like I said earlier, I think profanity is ok as long as it's not overused. There's nothing wrong with a few f-bombs here and there, just not when they're used in excess.

And this is why this is a tricky issue. A lot of people are more than ok with it, and can go overboard with it. Then we have people who are ok with it and use it tastefully. Then we have the third group of people who are against it. It's really a no-win situation for us staff. We simply can't appease everyone. If we take away the ability to curse, people might complain or find ways to mask it anyways, and this could, in the end, cause more problems than simply not having the filter on.

 

Shooter had to have his boy toy come help him out. He's an e-softy.

 

I'm not one to call out fellow staff or anything, but is this really necessary King?

Interesting comment from a "moderator." You obviously have no clue what your job is on this board, and I have to question the sanity of those who gave you the position.

 

Can't you just let it die already? Now this will go on for another 5 pages and the humor in all of it is starting to fade. Actually the humor was gone about 2 pages ago.

I'm with Shooter on this. Why is a moderator being allowed to instigate? Leadership comes from the top...

For the record, I have nothing against profanity per se. It just gets annoying when used gratuitously. Most people will find a better way to say something if they truly have something important to say.

Funny thing about this thread is that it could have been answered with a simple PM to an admin, instead someone started a thread about Swearing and now it's turned into a fight.

Do you mean the females who grew up in a separate dimension where bunnies bring chocolate carrots to them each morning for breakfast and where flying unicorns are the preferred mode of transport?

That is right, these women do exist and we should wholeheartedly be conscious of them when we choose to utter profane language that they surely have never heard. Just imagine a world where women think dirty thoughts and do dirty things just the same as men. Not a world I want to live in. No way Jose.
