I never got to meet Lanny, as I am an out of towner. But, he's been on s2 for a very long time, as have I. Though I know it's not true, I like to think that Lanny, on our behalf, is personally making appeals to the basketball gods... and it feels like it's working.
Lanny's funeral: I want to invite all of you to Lanny's funeral and interment. Even if you only talked with him in the forum or a few times at a forum event, you are very very welcome. Lake Oswego, OR 97034 .... 1:00 Interment (grave site service with full military honors) River View Cemetery Funeral Home 8421 S. Macadam Avenue Portland, OR 97219
Very sorry to read this. Although we may not all know Lanny personally, we all feel a love for him the devoted Blazers fan. He was us. He was Portland. A Blazers freak. Learning about him just a little bit in here, he was a sweetheart of a man. Thank You Lanny for being you. God Bless his Wife and Family. And his close buddies in here. May Lanny be hanging out with Maurice, Jerome, and Duck talking Blazers. Fly with the Angels Lanny.
Hey, Lanny's immediate family is small, with many being either too old or too far to travel for the funeral. We need 2 more pallbearers for the services on Wednesday. Can any of you help?
I will be there. But I have to work in the morning. That kind of means I won’t be dressed well for the occasion. Work boots and work clothes. Probably not the best choice for a pall bearer? Though I would have no problem doing it.
That's totally fine! If anyone asks we'll tell them you're the construction worker in a Village People tribute band! Seriously, that's fine. Someone else asked if they can wear a Blazer Jersey instead of a black suit. Hell, I'm thinking of wearing my Lillard jersey too.
I pick my son up from school here in Vancouver at 205. If needed, I could have him grab a ride with someone else.
