...so I ended up watching Butter, great movie -- it was hilarious -- out of left field -- loved it!
Totally agree with this. I thought Lincoln was riveting and I wasn't bored for a second. Daniel Day Lewis was amazing.
...Jesus Henry Christ was another good movie, check it:
PARANORMAN . . Rotten Tomatoes rating: 86% Impressive (voice) cast. An all-ages zombie comedy. Portland's LAIKA studios' attention to detail is awesome.
I have been catching up a bit My wife got me to watch John Carter, I enjoyed it Cowboys and aliens was as I expected, meh Tower Heist was meh minus, but to be fair I dont enjoy the lead actor
yeah, nothing life changing, but a great play on history..nephew is Edger Rice Burroughs...lots of humor.
Expendables and Expendables 2, back-to-back. Forehead-slapping funny, and over-the-top digital blood spatter for days. The movie makes it painfully clear that Stallone did not take Physics in high school.
Same here. I've read it has that Royal Tenenbaums/Rushmore feel to it. Rotten Tomatoes has a 94% rating for Moonrise Kingdom.
...yes, I watched Moonrise Kingdom a few nights ago -- it was a good story that just buzzed along until the very end, had that same quirky feel as RT and Rushmore -- definitely a worthwhile flick.
...I watched Why Stop Now last night -- a good time filler for a comedy drama -- powerful ending!
Seeking a friend for the end of the world - 9/10. A cleverly funny, well put together movie with a heartwarming ending. Step up 4 - 3/10. Girlfriends choice for movie night...... Terrible acting. Gave it a 3 because the dance scenes were entertaining.
Loved Moonrise Kingdom. Right up there with Rushmore. Better than Royal Tenenbaums Lincoln was great. Life of Pi was great. Saw Cast Away on cable last night - as good as ever. Can't wait for Les Mis!
I finally watched Moonrise Kingdom, and I agree that it's a great movie, but I was sort of mislead (by my own stupidity) about what the movie was really about. It was a quirky, young love story with actors like Ed Norton, Bruce Willis, and Bill Murray playing ancillary characters, with the real storyline revolving around the budding love of a young actor and actress. It was touching, but at the end of the day, I sort of expected more of a humorous edge and a better storyline involving all of the great supporting actors. Wes Anderson still delivered from an imagery perspective though. The next movie I've got on my to-watch list is the 2008 movie about The Wrecking Crew, that being the title. I figure that no one here's probably seen it, because it's a documentary on the obscure end, but throwing a stone in the dark, maybe 3raniac would have seen it. I've just been reading a lot into what made some of the great sounds of the 1960's and how involved yet uncredited the studio musicians of the day were, especially Carol Kaye and the Wrecking Crew. I'm really just trying to watching it for informational purposes rather than for entertainment, but I was wondering if any of ya'll have gotten a chance to watch it yet.
