I have to wonder if there was more to that "laser-pointer" incident with the Pacers. Like, evidence of a real gun being aimed at them.
that would be nuts and worthy of a permanent ban from the NBA it might be more like the NBA having proof Ja brought a gun onto the team plane
Yeah I didn't think of this but if its 5-10 games seems like they would just announce it now and move on to close this. Maybe its half the season or something. Only counterpoint might be that it will be a light suspension but the NBA doesn't want to deal with public backlash during the Finals.
I think hoopsjock was saying something about a 50 game minimum for bringing a gun on a team plane. Speculation maybe the NBA wasn't thorough with the first incident and hoped this would go away. Now they found evidence gun was on the plane so will suspend him the 50 games or maybe the whole season and playoffs. Also there was the other incident of laser being pointed in others cars, if they found out those were guns aimed at people that seems much more serious than a gun on the plane.
Hopefully during a potential year long suspension, he gets the help he needs . Then he needs to surround himself with people who actually will hold him accountable for his actions, and not a bunch of yes men. It will be a process to grow up, and decide which kind of life he really wants.
If Ja is suspended for 25 or 41 (or a lot) and no Dillon Brooks, the absolute last thing the NBA will accept is a tank job by Memphis.
What "help" does he need though? The only "help" ZBO needed was to quit surrounding himself with idiots and for him to quit being a follower. The only help people like this need is , is learning to follow the rules WE all need to follow. Large amounts of money in the bank account really does cloud the old common sense filter as we've seen for years. It's situations like this that just emphasize how lucky we are to have such a solid, grounded human being as our star player.
That’s just like a little slap on the wrist. He needs to be suspended for the entire season and playoffs without pay. Send a strong message!
if it's a much more serious gun violation, like smuggling a gun onto a team plane, I think the NBA will come down hard on that
How about don't cary guns and hire security? He makes a couple hundred million (or at least did). Never needs to have a gun and even stupider to ever be in a position to have to use it directly himself for eve just defense as it's all sorts of legal liability. Clearly not a bright individual.
...substance/alcohol abuse is likely what people are referring to when suggesting Ja needs to get help
