nba previously punished him with 8 games, theres no way he gets similar punishment, especially after lying to adam silvers face and the previous punishment was weak

adam silver has no spine, hes not gonna ban him for a season, likely not even for 50 games, id say 30-35 games

 

Commissioner Silver will probably incorporate the Grizzlies input into delegatation of Ja's suspension. When asked about what the commish thought of the new Morant gun waving video, Silver seemed rather goofy & nonchalant in his response.

Ja didn't threaten anybody, he didn't commit a crime. He's just being a dork and will probably get another slap on the wrist suspension.

 

C'mon man. You don't become the Commissioner of the NBA with "No Spine". You might not agree with the way he runs things but I assure you he is a man that weighs everything out appropriately.

They’ve generally played well without Ja. Bane and JJJ are All Star level players.

 

one might argue that david stern would ban him for a season after the first gun incident, let alone the second

The Grizzlies are looking for exactly the same players Portland wants to get. They need a better backup Center in case Steven Adams misses time. They will also need 2-way Forwards at the wing, due to Dillon's meltdown and the unfortunate achilles injury to Brandon Clarke.

Ja's ~15 game suspension ain't no biggie, if Memphis can clean up the free agent market, the Grizzlies will once again be a really tough opponent.

 

Seems like a big IF. The FA market is not that great this year for 2-way forwards, and I am not sure many want to join that team

same interview Smith guessed 24/25 game suspension. Thats what I think as well, but of course I could be wrong.
