Latine or Latinu is more correct grammatically.

Latinx maybe used by only 3-4% of the Hispanic/Latino population in the US, but that is some 2,000,000 people.

Many don't like latinx because it doesn't work with Spanish, as the language is based on masculine and feminine nouns, articles, and adjectives. Latinx therefore doesn't fit.

Most who use Latinx are youth who are attempting to make it more popular.

Seems it was a good intention made to invite inclusiveness. But, we all know about good intentions.

Most of my friends are Mexican, I’ve never heard this word used in person. You’d probably be made fun of relentlessly if you used it around them. I’ve only ever seen it used online when someone is trying to flex politically. I’m sure it’s the brainchild of a clueless white person.

My theory is that its more woke whites trying to show off their progressiveness than anything in using that term. Kind of like the whole "using the term Oriental is offensive to Asians!" BS.

I live in a city that is 97% Hispanic and can count on one hand the number of times I've heard people use the term LatinX and every time it's been one of my far left friends. I'm not surprised in the least that it is used in Portland more than in actual Latino communities.

A good portion of Latinos don't seem to like being called Latinx. It seems like a label white people use to classify people that aren't themselves because they think they know whats best for them.

The Dutch comic strip Asterix the Gaul every character that has a Gaul's name pretty much ends in x
Asterix Obelix, Geriatrix, Cacophonix Getafix.........this is nothing new, it's just stolen from a Dutch cartoon!
I guess the Dutch have always been ahead of the "woke" curve

Hold on, did the liberals also ruin the French language?

    Margaux? Devereaux? Bijoux?

Oh man, the liberals are running wild!
