Nobody expected this....not me, not at Arco. 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, in 43 minutes.
Sensational debut. What makes it even better is the fact it was against one of the top teams in the league - who was guarding 'Bron? Christie, Bibby, Peja? If it was Christie then that's just a superb game.
Just about everyone guarded 'Bron. He made jumpers over Miller, Christie, Bibby, Wallace, etc. His game was just fire tonight. Like grizzo said, his D can use work but learning how to play NBA defense comes with time. He has the effort on the defensive end atleast. He chases his man through screens, on the baseline, behind the three point line, wherever. Impressive debut.

One thing to remember though....this is an impressive debut and all, but how many times throughout the season really do you guys think LeBron will be able to play 43 minutes? Eventually his minutes are going to get cut down to the mid 30s most likely, however, it does prove that when given certain opportunities he will exploit the defense and just plain out make the opposition look stupid.

I love how Sportscenter is calling the show "LeBroncenter" lol "The 18 year old is taking over the show" - Steve Levy
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">Why not and why?</div> Because he will more than likely get burned out. Going from a 20-something game high school season to an 82 game season is tough enough as it is. Now add the fact that the minutes he played tonight are more then his whole high school games lasted and he will get burned out even faster. That's why not and why.
I agree with you to a point, but this guy does not have the typical body, so I believe he can handle it there. To me the more tough aspect will be how he keeps his mind together.

The Cavs will need him to play these kind of minutes and he is very capable of it. He is big, strong and very athletic...and YOUNG.
Silas is a superb mentoring coach, he'll be able to tell when 'Bron needs a break and when he can go out and play 40-45 minutes. Perfect situation for LJ.
Lebron played a great game..and the Cavs did a decent job of not getting blowout in Arco. The numbers Lebron put up were amazing for a guy straight out of high school....His passing skills are the most impressive to me
Great game, I wish i saw it. After the Magic got done I fell asleep. I definetely didn't see this coming, I'm lost for words. I was expecting 10 pts at most in his debut. I think that was the best debut ever. I think i heard that on the radio this morning.
a lot better performance than i expected, he has proven that he can hang with the big boys, it may b one game, but it was against the kings at ARCO!! that annoying cow bell

I never expected this from him. Congrats Cavs fans.
The kid did look good but lets not get to crazy Sac-town didnt even really try to stop bron from driving to the hoop. their defense was kind of lame last night. It wouldnt shock me if Sac-towns front office got a call david stern saying "look its the kids first national game, everybody in the world is watching the league needs something positive for ESPN and these other sports shows to talk about instead of all the problems they been talking so sacro can you please take it easy on the young kid tonight we'll make it up to later come playoff time when your fighting for that #1 seed eveybody in the west is fighting for" maybe a close call down the stretch of a big game or something because I personally think the NBA is setup Iam not saying that its completely fake but I do think they do things to benefit ratings so Lebron having a great game in his first with that much media attention could have been helped a little by Sacro & D.Stern I mean what if he had a bad game would as many people care about tonights game or would a lot of people just chalked him up to media hype and not be interested in tonights national television game than rating would suffer. The NBA is counting on this kid to carry ratings like MJ did so the NBA might do just about anything for him to shine.
let's not get too excited...when he's shooting poorly, we're all saying that a few games aren't the measure of his greatness...so let's not get too excited over a great game... but i must admit i have to give the  for the kid
