So yeah I don't get your argument. The Mavs won nearly the same amount of games in the regular season and Dirk was hurt.

I am fine with a hard cap but I doubt that Collusion would end. The Heat took a paycut and LeBron could have gone to Chicago. So there was always going to be some super team formed. The Cavaliers proved they're a pretty weak team without James.

Let's go a step further and have the players have an ownership stake in their new league... I bet that would make them play hard every night and make every year a "contract year." I'm not sure what it would do for retirement, though.
