It's a hell of an inconvenience when somebody is kicking your door in... I don't know. I wish fingerprint locks were 100% reliable, but the reality is you have that gun for the once in a lifetime, last line of defense, to save your children.

Do you really want to trust that the lock is in working order and that you won't mess up the combo?

Or do you just hang a piece of paper with the combo right on the safe, like most people do with their office computer? Then what's the point in having the safe?

I don't know man... I really want to comply and be as safe as possible...

But it would sure suck to be looking down the barrel of some MAGA/Proud Boy idiot's gun (who I've pissed off many times, and been threatened by multiple times) knowing that I couldn't get into that safe and in a few seconds I'll be dead. With this asshole in my house with my Asian wife and bi-racial daughters...

That's about the worst fear I can imagine.

You can bet I have quick access to my shotgun and I know damn well when anybody sets foot on my property.

Rittenhouse will for sure get off on the death of Rosenbaum. Thats the best case of self defense. The other two came at after he shot and killed Rosenbaum to try and stop him. He might get found guilty on those. The reckless murder and other reckless charge.

    I hear you

If you look, most school shootings happen because kids get ahold of their parents guns. Gotta keep those guns safe.

He didn't lie about anything. He shared a story he heard from a trusted person.

It was an awesome example of how easily antidotes can muddy the water, and he was very clear that it was just hearsay.

I very much appreciated the conversation and the opportunity to address it.

Adam Lanza's mom kept her guns in a safe. He killed her and took her keys.

By 12 years old I knew every password, atm pin, cable pin, and location of every key to everything my parents were trying to keep private and/or protect me from.

    I imagine you did too.

There is no way to prevent your kids from taking your stuff other than raising your kids right and getting help when you need it.

The best way for us to control this is to increase access to healthcare (including de-stigmatizing mental Healthcare), and increasing access to education.

IMO, these people commit these heinous acts because they've become very ill and we haven't treated them or removed them from the general population.

And I guess America is just the most mentally fucked up place, why we have school shootings as often as parent teacher conferences

I'm not just talking about Lanza. There are many many others sadly who took their parents guns and used them in mass shootings.

I did know codes, but a gun safe code is one kids shouldn't be privy too...nor should a key to it be left around on a hook for easy access.

Teaching kids about gun safety is great, but it's not good enough. Kids are still kids.

I wouldn't teach my son about the dangers of guns and then leave a gun where he could get it. He is still a kid.

Alot of these shootings could have been prevented. Your answer is, well we can't stop our kids from getting their hands on our guns. Kids will be kids. Oh well, let's throw our hands up and shrug our shoulders.

We have the worst gini coefficient of any western country.
Because of that, we have more crime, poverty, lower education scores, higher birth mortality, more expensive Healthcare with typically less successful outcomes. For example, we are the only industrialized country with a steadily rising maternal death rate.

Yes, we are steadily fucking up the middle class, pushing them to lower class. And it's causing a great many problems.

And not uplifting the lower class. But I guess for there to be an upper class there has to be a lower class. The lower class has to expand as the rich get richer, hence the middle class disappearing.

I promise you that you cannot hide your key in a place your 12 year old is unable to find it. Nobody treats their kids like criminals that way. You're home. You let your guard down. You love your kids.

I didn't say anything about throwing our hands up. I suggested changes that can actually save hundreds of thousands of lives per year.

Being as strict as possible on gun safes will possibly save a life every now and then, but it will result in a great many law abiding citizens having their 4th ammendment rights violated, fined or thrown in jail, thereby increasing the financial burden on the rest of us, breaking up a possibly healthy family and further reducing the workforce.

To maybe save 1 life? What's to stop this kid from coming up with a couple hundred bucks and buying a 3d printed gun from a friend? I guarantee you there is at least 1 kid in every school in America who knows how to 3d print a working gun in a week. Fully automatic.

You can not prevent motivated kids from getting guns. It's impossible.

Until we address the root of the problem this will ALWAYS be a problem. And we can't do that until Democrat stop chopping their noses off by trying to restrict the rights of the most law abiding demographic of Americans and start focusing on solving that problem via increased access to education, healthcare, and improving the justice system.

Yes, for sure. We want the lower class to be lifting into the middle class, not other way around. It's been going the opposite direction since at least Reagan...

this needs to be posted again…..

    and again
    And again
    And again

….until people understand the law and get their emotions out of thier judgements.
This is really a bigger issue than just this thread or this case. Its a polarizing issue that continues to increase in our nation.

Letting life be dictated by emotions and not laws or facts is not healthy…

    he slandered you.
And has the audacity to call others a dunce… but yet doesn't know the definition of lying….

Man.. lets just polarize things even more than they are. Thats the answer…..

    I never lied.

He said I lied about gun shows...

Only 22 states require a background in personal gun sales....which gives gun shows their loophole to sale without doing background checks. There is still work to be done there.

He said I lied about my father in law

What I said about my father in law was true, but apparently he must have been bullshiting me because one is required in his state and he isn't the kind of guy to break the law like that. Whatever.

He said I lied about the trial.

I have expressed opinions. Let my emotions run free here and there sure. Just tired of seeing gun violence. Even joked about the prosecutor asking for a mistrial because the Jury is taking so long...which maybe is a good thing that they are...it shows they are taking it seriously and making sure they come back with the right verdict whatever that is...and about the video snafu by the prosecutors.

But, a liar I am not.

The kicker was the weird "yt" slang, which no one uses, and seems like it was said by someone who was stupid.

We should be on the lookout for new names.

    "Father Gee"

    "Padre Gi"

    "Dad G"

you'd like to think if he was to come back, he would try to do something completely different, instead of rambling nonsense that comes off like someone who has had too many belts today.
