Yeah I don't disagree... Sounds like a great way to get into trouble.

On the other hand, charging that kind of person seems pretty stupid as well.

Stupid people do stupid shit. And pay stupid penalties. But he was a kid, and he was attacked. He'll get a lot of latitude.

I learned in a quality control class I took at Tektronix that you always start with the low hanging fruit.

I agree with the lesson, I just don't understand how gun rights are low hanging fruit...

    Talk about a nightmare.

It would be impossible to remove 400 million guns from Americans. It would take decades and be incredibly expensive. And the data shows us it wouldn't even save many lives.

Addressing our poor gini coefficient is the low hanging fruit. Far more bang for the buck, and less opposition.

If he gets off which he probably will he will become a hero to the right. More young punks like him, not to mention the far right groups already going to the protests to intimidate protestors will feel emboldened to shoot protestors because they know they can get away with it.

There will be probably be protests when he is not found guilty there in Kenosha. Will Rittenhouse grab his gun and go out there? "Protect some more businesses?"

Im all for certain drug legalization, but if you legalize meth & heroine good kids will become addicts and mentally handicapped, big time.

You’re just patching together a scenario to fit your narrative. Two of the three people he shot were armed and had pointed weapons before he did. The third was assaulting him with a skateboard.
Yes, we all know it’s stupid to show up to a riot (no, it wasn’t a ‘protest’) with a gun, one reason being because you might get shot. Same goes for him if he would’ve been the first one to point a gun. He didn’t just stroll up and start blasting people holding BLM signs though, like you’re trying to make it sound like.

I don’t think we ever can or should even really try to “remove” the hundreds of millions of guns from the country. Can’t happen. Which is why instead we make and enforce very strict, very clear laws around gun ownership, use, storage, education, carry, and so on. Go ahead, keep your guns. Fine. But even a hint that it’s being used for anything other than defending your home/family or hunting and we get to hang you by your balls in town square. Deal?

Mandatory minimum sentences would be a great start for any illegal gun possession.

I don't think you legalize those... More decriminalize.

What we're doing is certainly not working.

centuries is only a blip in the whole scheme of things… those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
The amendment is there and STILL there for a good reason…

says you. How do know it has not avoided the very purpose of the amendment?

    its really pretty simple.
    Take guns away.
    Only criminals then have guns.
I know thats not what i want.

Rittenhouse: shoots multiple people with an illegally purchased firearm and will likely walk free.
Former Blazer Telfair : likely headed to jail for just owning a gun.

2nd amendment advocates don't even see why that might be an issue. Tell me again how white privilege doesn't exist! :beatinto:

More have died because of it then lived.

I'm not saying it doesn't have it's merits

I saying initially it was written because the people were the militia. If there was a war, every dude went and joined.

Now there is an actual military, so it doesn't mean the same as what the founders intended it for.

And, now it is terribly abused. The right to bear arms. There are a lot of responsible people out there and I appreciate that. But, guns have become a terrible problem. The death rate from getting shot has gone up dramatically year after year.

Yeah, I agree to a point. Obviously recreation should also legal and virtually unregulated out of city limits.

I don't agree that we can or should assume a person's intent without very compelling evidence, just because they used a gun.

actually it was written for the people to be able to rise up against a tyrannical, oppressive ruler.
Our militia is controlled by the government. So there is nothing for the people to defend themselves against a bad government, ESPECIALLy if it has a large militia.

and you wonder why i have issues taking you seriously….
