And can you believe the nerve of LeBron not telling ESPN first, and letting them find out from SI who actually broke the story. :devilwink:

I don't. Remember the espn story that came out months ago that caused uneasiness with one of his quotes. Something like, whatever it happens it's been a great run?

I think he knew he was going home for awhile.

If true, I think he should have informed Miami before going public. At least a phone call or even a text a couple minutes before going public would have been the respectable thing to do, IMO.

But I doubt Miami makes a big deal about it. They probably feel lucky to have LeBron for 4 yrs and they would be smart to wish him well.

Well I do agree that he should have informed Miami about his departure. Lebron has always pretty much got what he wanted and has been around yes people his whole life. When thats the case you get selfish and thats what Lebron is. I'm not saying he's a bad person but he is selfish.

i think he screwed up too

he should have remained a free agent, and signed a series of 10 day contracts with teams whose schedules lined in such a way that he could have played and beaten the lakers 30 or 40 times this year

Just a quick note: LeBron James was not employed by the Miami Heat when he made the announcement.

Shooter, want me to change this thread title to "LeBron screws it up again! ...alleges ESPN, but I will wait for further confirmation"?

I never had a problem with the way Lebron left Cleveland management. It was how he treated the fans of Cleveland with his on air announcement. I do not think he could have left Miami in a nicer manner than he did with his letter.

I think the next time you see a news article about a Blazer player getting traded to another team, you should hold off posting that article, keep your mouth shut, and say nothing. Wait until at least 5 other news organizations have posted the story, and call all your friends to make sure it's true. Then, just to be sure, call your grandmother to see if she's heard about it, and check the newspaper, just to make sure it's not an internet rumor. And finally, just to be completely sure, call the Blazer's corporate offices and ask to speak to the GM. Then, and only THEN, should you come to this board and post the story.

I'll probably wait on excoriating people til I'm sure, yes. You have always made a good cautionary tale, Shooter.
