If LeBron is to be taken seriously as an actor, it's normal to go through a transition phase, where he plays a basketball player, since this is what he's already known for. Hopefully, if he's to make non-basketball related movies, he going to make sure he doesn't accept scripts which have him "shooting baskets," or saying something out of character to remind you that he's really a basketball player. Shaq did this in Kazam and Steel, which backfired, and totally destroyed what little suspension of disbelief they had.
If Spike Lee is the director, best believe its going to be a basketball movie. Over at Hoopshype.com it already states that LBJ is playing a college basketball star.
