to shut up whiny left wing nutbags, who would eventually start following him everywhere and harassing him.
I don't think that's it at all. Why does he care if they're whining? Unless he frequents this board, he's not seeing this conversation.
In real life. He'll get hecklers. He'll be on the news. He'll be on Rachel Maddow. Its just inconvenient for him to have that in his life.
Again, he doesn't want to be bothered by them. So in that respect he cares not to be harassed so he put out an insincere apology to tell them to basically fuck off.
The he should really just tell them to fuck off. If that's really what he meant. Cuz that's what he did the first time.
I do. But I also don't buy that Phil doesn't care. If there was no real reason or point to apologizing, then why did he apologize? The masses allegedly can't afford his products, so there's no hit to him or his wallet. What's his motivation? If his apology is insincere and you're in on the secret, why aren't other people in on the secret? And what happens when people find out the apology was insincere? Nothing right? Cuz him opening his mouth was no big deal.
And I've stated, the reason to apologize is to put this story the media started running with to pasture. What does he have to apologize for, that he talked about his investment/income and going to talk with his advisors to try to counteract some of the tax hikes he has? OH NOEZ!? :MARIS61:
The hit on him is he doesn't want to be on the news portrayed as a greedy monster stealing money from orphaned babies.
LOL I think he's more concerned about kooks showing up to "Occupy Mickelson" than he is worried about how KPMG views his comments. He is being taxed at a 62/63% rate. He said he may move from his home state because of it. I guess I don't understand why this makes people like you so upset. It doesn't affect you at all.
No, I'm just confused why some people here thought that it was okay for Phil to open his mouth and not expect people to react/respond to him in a negative way. That confuses me more than anything. Aside from that, was just curious how long I'd get these little smartass comments from El-P, and he played it well.
You're all over the place here. What I like is how you can have an opinion on how much tax money Phil Mickelson pays and express it in a public forum, yet if he talks about how his higher tax rates impact his life, he is suddenly a villain. Are you paying 62% of your income in taxes? If not, then what you think about it is superfluous banter.
