<span style="font-family:Tahoma">There have been many comparisons of this. I believe Len would have been better, but whatever. It's just a "What If" question that perplexes us all.</span>
yeah, no point debating. IMO Earl "the goat" Manigault would have been the GOAT if he hadn't gotten kicked out of college
to whoever asked who reggie lewis was, he was another Celtic player that died in the early 90's. He was said to be the only player that could stop Jordan, or atleast slow him down dramatically. One of the league's best defenders who could score 20 ppg. He died from a heart attack during a practice in the summer.
Bias definately was a lot like Jordan but it's so hard to make these comparisons. How did Bias die again? Cocaine overdose. How do we not know he would have turned into a cokehead like the three other players who were drafted in that very same draft class. He was certainly an exceptional basketball player but who knows what could have happened to him. He could have been better than Jordan or he could have been a drug addict.
Although from what I have seen, it looked like Bias had the talent to be as good as Jordan if not better, he never would have been. What made Jordan so great was the sense that he won 6 championships and that he did something clutch almost in every single one. Also, if you really think about it, do you think he could have put up the ridiculous numbers that Jordan did in the pros? I highly doubt it now that I think about it. Also, Bias' athleticsim would have helped him out more in college than in the pros. Even though other parts of his game were fairly sound, it was his athleticsim that helped him dominated the opposition.
Well, Darius Miles never proved himself on the college level like bias did, but if you are referring to his attitude problems...I really have no idea. Some NBA players who have drug problems or who HAD drug problems can coexist with their coaches alot better than Miles ever has or is.

Lenny Bias averages 7 ppg on 48% shooting. Jordan gets more rebounds assists and steals. Jordan hits buzzer beater to win it allSophomore year: Bias averages 15 points, jordan averages 20, to go along with more rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks than bias. And jordan does it in less minutesJunior year: Finally a close year. Bias averages 19-7. Jordan averages 20-5. Jordan has more steals and blocks and the same number of assists. Seems like dead even stats..... until you realize that bias was playing seven more minutes per gameSenior year: As a senior, bias was still putting up less per minute in every stat than jordan was as a junior. Jordan went to the NBA instead of staying for his senior year, and was averaging a nice, neat 28.3 ppg, 6 apg, 6.5 rpg in the NBA
I love this thread, because the poster of this thread has never seen Len Bias play, neither has 99% of BBW. Highlight reels don't count. Highlight reels make Gerald Green look like an All-Star already. And even if people have seen him play, nobody will ever know if he would have been better than Jordan or not. Nobody will ever know.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ Jul 20 2006, 11:31 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>No one ever was or will be better than Jordan.</div>Throughout the rest of the world's existance, you don't think there will be a guy that tops Jordan? I think there will. Maybe it's not until we are all dead, but it will happen.

I'm not saying he would have been better, but Pistol Pete Maravich had a better college career than MJ, who turned out better? Christian Laetner{sp} had a better college career than MJ, who turned out better?
I don't know anything about Len Bias...I cannot judge how good he could have been....It's impossible and it would be stupid on my part to do so.

Michael Jordan was a solid college player, but coming into the NBA, he improved his game like few others have. Coming into the NBA, he could hit a short jumper, dunk, and steal the ball off gambles. Within a five year period, he became a great defender with able three point shooting ability, a great midrange shot, great slashing ability...You get the point.
No he wouldnt have, what made MJ the greatest ever wasnt physical ability or anything like that. Theres alotve people who are more gifted physically than Jordan, but Jordans approach to the game mentally is unimaginable. He was great because of his mentality .
