Hey, think of it as like Summer League. Only with a fair number of actually good NBA players.
    Tony Parker
    Marc Gasol
    Pekovic
    Rubio
    (maybe) Luol Deng
    (maybe) Kirilenko

    And the youngsters
    Valanciunas
    Dennis Schroeder
    Karasev
    Fournier

    And many more!

"Football" you say? That's that bizarre hybrid of sumo and chess played in fancy dress, where there's 3 seconds of action surrounded by twenty minutes of ad breaks, right? Never understood why they called it football.

Hall of Fame game is less than two weeks away for NFL and the Timbers/Thorns are still playing.

Besides, this has been a beautiful summer. Too much to do outside to worry about watching TV.

A's down 3-0, scored a run in the 6th, run in the 7th, two runs in the 8th, win game, still in first place by three games. I'm a happy cat.

Well the Blazers haven't played a meaningful game in over 4 months so we've got through most the waiting.

I can't believe we haven't had measurable rain in over a month and why does crandc always have pictures like that as here avatar. Why always fight the fight? There has to be more to you than just your sexuality. It doesn't always have to be about lesbian or gay rights does it. I'm not offended by your pics, just a tad annoyed. move on and live your life as a woman, not a gay woman.

Your wife must be posting from her phone.

Other posters have political signatures, like ABM. I don't mind her avatar. I'll still tell her off when she blindly hates men, but I don't mind her balancing the board with alternative dirty pictures.

Turns out neither Deng nor Freeland will be playing for GB. That sucks. (Even sadder: the reason Freeland isn't playing is because he's concentrating on his career with Portland, when we're all trying to work out ways to end it.)

I've always thought that Ben Gordon should play. He's eligible because he was born in London, and he keeps flirting with the team but never showing up. I think it would do his image good, and I think his game is ideal for the international game. Maybe he believes he's a star and doesn't need the exposure, but if so, he's sadly mistaken.

Freeland is one of the biggest surprises from last years team. This was a guy who held his own in the Olympics and was one of the best big men in Spain. I thought he would come in and compete for the starting center spot but he wasn’t close to even being a backup. He wasn’t impressive in summer league either. I’m not sure what the issue is with him he doesn’t seem to do anything well at all.

If he just improves to being an acceptable 3rd string center that would be more than I expect this year.

I think the speed of the NBA game shocked him. It was like he was stuck in mud the entire season. He needs to change his training to this:

I'm waiting for you to say the same thing to OregonHuskerMan, your pal Shooter and all the others with all the heterosexual cheesecake stuff. And why is having an avatar like hers not "living her life as a woman"? Or even a human being? You're kind of assuming that a "normal" woman wouldn't have political opinions like that. Which suggests a lot more people than crandc need to have those kind of avatars.

It's just crandc's humorous attempt to show the equivalent of scantily-clad women in avatars. I think it's quite funny and occasionally thought provoking (she gets some pretty risqué photos that I wouldn't think twice about if it were a woman, but make me stop and think because it's a guy). I applaud her for it. We should all have our assumptions challenged from time to time.

My avatar is about perception. Remember those pics in psych books that can be seen as either one thing or another? What do you think (so far as I know most posters here a white, straight and male) when you see five young African American men, shirtless, with obvious attitude? Do you see threats to avoid, or do you see a "sissies" to be targeted?

What do I think? The state of Oregon has like 3% black people living here and 99.5% of em lived in my neighborhood growing up. Looks like another day at the hoops courts to me. I wasn't trying to offend you, I'm just curious why everything always has to lead back to your sexuality. Just be yourself, move on and talk hoops!

Wow, I guess people in Portland are a fuck of a lot more ripped than they are in Flint, MI. Because there's a lot more fatties at the pickup games I go to. You must have stuck out, then...
