For the sake of argument,we aren't God, and though he made us in his image as it is said, he made us imperfect, therefore we can and have evolved. I think science and religion can be mutual. But, that's me. I can understand where both sides are coming from, that it can only be one of the other. I have always been curious though to possibility that both sides are in fact right and then I guess wrong.
It's not about party affiliation it's about worldview. Eisenhower was a progressive Republican. I wish we had more Eisenhowers right now. We did evolve. We went from living in caves and throwing sharpened sticks at animals, and grunting, to having built cities, technology, developed language...etc.
Take away guns and rely on green energy and we will be back to living in caves, throwing sharpened sticks at animals. Grunting still works if you don't speak the language.
It goes back even farther than that. We have a receptor in our brain for THC. This receptor evolved from a sea squirt....
