I would listen to you, except you keep getting your facts wrong. Gasol was CLEARLY a player at the top of his game when he was traded to the Lakers, which is why every NBA fan thought that the Lakers robbed Memphis. So whether it was seven years or 10 years that he was a Grizzly, you clearly aren't paying attention.

And you still haven't provided a link for your ridiculous assertion that every GM who traded one of the MVPs I mentioned got canned. You're just making stuff up as you go, aren't you?

to each his own I suppose, but Biyombo is starting to really round into something impressive the past few weeks or so ... He's still super young and he's raw as hell, but after watching him against Orlando and Dwight a a week ago he left me thinking he could end up a true force on the defensive end of the court.

Which is what has happened in Portland. Aldridge has never been a leader like a Brandon Roy or a Jason Kidd or a Dwayne Wade. He just isn't suited for it. The only reason the Blazers are trying to make him a leader now is because they lost both Roy and Oden.

Some of them may have wanted out, but the point is that a team can give up a star player and still survive, still get someone good in return, and still win a division, a conference, or an NBA title. The Mavericks won a title after they got rid of Jason Kidd, and the Lakers won a couple after getting rid of Shaq. And Denver is now playing better without Anthony . . .

Some people around here seem to think it would be the end of the world if we got rid of Aldridge, but it could actually be a very good thing for the team.

It hasn't been tried in Portland, though. That was my point.

And yes, Dallas won a title after they traded Kidd. Of course, they had to trade back for him to actually win that title. I also believe there were issues with him and Jim jackson. Lakerrs had issues with Shaq and Kobe. Denver had issues with Anthony. But they did win 54 gamesand make the WCF with him. We don't know if they are better without him yet.

That would be really cool if we could sneak James McAdoo in the draft. Unfortunately, I don't think many GM's think of him as a role player in the league.

    Hogwash.

Z-Bo was a blackhole that was a cancer on the Blazers. Fans didn't run him out of town, we got a better, smarter more all around player in Aldridge that made him expendable.

Drexler wanted a ring and our window had closed so management sent him to Houston, which was a contender.

Blazer fans haven't run anybody out of town.

Maybe not literally run them out of town, but I agree with him that fans tend to turn on the players here quite often.

expendable? Kp did worse as anyone could possibly do in that situation and a lot of it was to shed a made up jail blazer era, when it was just the local media trolling and bandwagon wanting to bitch and moan about someone new

And you were too young in the drexler era, fans were doing then what they are doing now.

So its gone from the fans to the local media... Are they one in the same.

Blazer fans have never ran anybody out of town, you don't know what you're talking about. Go to New York though, Carmelo is about to get ran out of town there.

Give me just one link or reference to Clyde getting ran out of town in Portland and I'll believe you.

The media influences the fans. While we have a passionate fan base we also have one that has too short a leash on players. The fans turn on players, who then react to it negatively. Its classic portland basketball

Thats in every city. This message board is no different than any other forum of any other NBA team. Were the diehards who want whats best for our teams. Just because a few in here feel one way does not mean a whole fanbase does. Shit, fans still gave Oden the benefit of doubt until he got like his 4th severe leg injury.

Seems you've lost touch with the Blazers. How many games have you gone to in the past 5-10 years?

I worked at the Rose Garden for 7 years and went to every home game during that time. I never saw fans ride anyone out of town. Maybe Bonzi Wells?

Fans complain, want "good character guys". When the good character guys stop winning, they want "guys with an edge". Its an endless cycle.

I think you misconstrue fans on this board with the majority of fans.
