That's not what the word means. You're looking for "fair-weather."

So we can't cheer the team despite the players that are underperforming? How does that work?

I've been cheering the team for all 5 years of Meyers being here, so Id highly doubt that'd be the definition of bandwagon.

So we're going to get 4 more years to develop Nurk and it won't be while we're paying him the max.

    Not seeing a problem here.

Actually it's going to be fun watching Collins and Nurk battle it out to be our max contract big man.

Collins looked really polished in the Lakers game.

I have cooled a good bit on Nurk but he is not trash and likely the main reason our defensive stats are so much better this yr. However his undisciplined offense, turnovers, are a big concern and he needs some serious coaching as to having some limits.structure. So I put some blame on Nurk and some on Stottts. We have two big black holes on offensive in CJ and Nurk and that HAS to change. Nurk does do well in several key defensive advanced stats a lot of GM's look at so he still may get a pretty decent offer - it only takes one team as we know. If he keeps playin like this 15 mil per is too much from my viewpoint, 10-12 looks about right and if someone offers a good bit more than adios Nurk.

I was on the Collins bandwagon before the draft. He's going to be a solid player in this league.

do you realise Mason Plumlee got 3/14 contract, thats 42 mil for three years and you would give Nurk 4/10-12, so thats 40-48 for four years, so either 2 mil LESS than Plumlee with one year MORE, or 6 mil more that Plumplee with one year MORE

do you think Plumlee is important to DEN, as much as Nurk is important to POR... do you think Plumlee is better or close to be as good as Nurk... if someone offers a "good bit more" you would let him go, really... then what, you develop Collins whos not as good as Nurk is right know, or bring some scrub to replace Nurk while developing Collins

I dont know, but to me Nurk looks like a "must keep", you match any offer he gets and develop both Nurk & Collins, cause those two could be special combo

as @SlyPokerDog says, attack the post, not the poster, so that post is full of idiotic shit and you werent even joking

The good thing about Collins is he’s made to play off of a center like Nurk. Even if he develops physically his defensive ability on the perimeter is a weapon that should be utilized because it creates mismatches. He’s similar to Anthony Davis in that way, and it’s why Draymond is so valuable. Yeah he can play center against certain teams but he’ll be best utilized at the four.

So this whole Nurk vs Collins narrative by some is a bit confusing to me.

When did I say you can’t cheer for them? Shit you can even criticize them. I’m talking about the fans that scream trade anytime a guy has a bad game. If you’re not that guy then I’m obviously not talking about you.

I agree that Collins can play the 4 but for me it's a race to see who gets the max contract in 4 years. Who knows if Dame and CJ will even be Blazers by then but I just don't see us having two max contracts in the PF/Center positions.
