Cool story bro, too bad hip surgery derailed him and too bad he went to Syracuse. he could have been something.
No I get that, but typically when you are being considered for a job the interview is the most important part of the process. It's difficult not to overvalue your 1 on 1 interactions with a player.
I don't think the interview was mentioned, I think the Mikes said it had more to do with his lackluster workout.
Correct. I just meant that it's hard not to put more emphasis on your firsthand account of a candidate's skills (i.e. individual workout). He sounded like he was very grounded and professional.
Agreed. It's not like Leonard is a big stiff with club feet and dumber than a box of rocks. Dude is athletic, has hops and has an edge to him. It's also evident from his interviews that cognitive ability resides between his ears. This tells me he is likely to be teachable and should be more than serviceable sooner... rather than later. Now, if they only get in a good big man coach to teach him the ropes.
A Blazer point guard who can shoot threes, defend, finish at the rim, and run the pick-and-roll. I just....I....just give a minute. I think I'm going to cry a little here.
Ouch. Still too soon for me. The last three years had me as grumpy and downtrodden about the team as I've ever been (even with the Jailblazers my disappointment was mostly tempered with apathy) I want to be hopeful about the team for awhile; if I start thinking about knees and injuries that's right out the window.
I'm just looking forward to listening to Mike Rice try and call the Lillard to Leonard fastbreak... oh he's going to mangle that up but good! ...Or maybe he'll just decide to go with Damian and Meyers.
So funny you say that. I sitting there all excited about the rooks after the game and then suddenly it came to me, "They hooked me again and I'm such a sucka!"
I'm right there with you. 6 months ago I wasn't sure if I'd ever attend a Blazer game again. Tomorrow night I'm catching a flight to Vegas in the middle of July to watch a couple summer league games.
Is it a coincidence that Flynn had a decent rookie year at PG for Minne, injured his leg, and his career has been in the gutter since. Another PG they drafted in the same draft had a good rookie year, injured his leg, and.......??
And now they get a SG that injured both of his legs... It sounds like they are trying to take our bad luck. That's so nice of Minne to do!
Wish I could do that as well. Have a blast. I'm interested to hear a first-hand report on how fast Lillard looks on the court. TV makes it difficult, because you can't really see spacing well on film during live action.
