Not really. (As evidenced by the article that person posted.) Particularly if you’re in tune with what has happened in the NFL. You think Blazer fans would’ve reacted differently if Jason Kidd was hired as an assistant instead of head coach? Give me a fucking break. Let’s see Billups get hired and bring Kidd as a assistant coach, I’m sure blazer fans would be perfectly happy since he wasn’t head coach. Good lord.
I keep thinking I must be mis-reading his posts about this topic. I don’t get it. Just even coming across as defending Kidd is cringeworthy
Jason Kidd has spoken very highly of Terry Stotts who was the Mavs offensive coordinator when they won a championshp with him and Dirk......Terry getting fired might be part of the reason Kidd withdrew from here...it's possible he doesn't want to coach Dame or be under the head coach microscope anymore....Kidd is probably in his dream job now in LA with Lebron and AD...he can drink like a fish down there and get lost in sin city whenever he likes.
I wouldn't say differently. The hiring process for assistants isn't public. Hell, half the time I have no idea who the assistants all are. Most fans probably don't even know who the assists are.
Many people prioritize competence over ideology. As a person matures, he stops assuming that everyone possesses his own inhibitions. Stop cringing and toughen up. Well-spoken, Hoopguru. Lillard obviously agrees.
Correct. Let's see you feel the same outrage over the tens of thousands of Iraqis put into torture prisons by Americans by Bush, with balls squashed and electrocuted. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands killed in that meaningless war. If Kidd is the best basketball mind available, then hire him. If he's not, then don't.
Gosh you really are right you know. Since people commit war crimes and kill people, the Blazers should hire regardless of their own crimes. So true. Why would a basketball team care about such things since George Bush killed people in a war?
If I put ideological limits on what to buy, I'd be in a store with little selection. You have to put up with all types in life and shop around freely, including with a head coach. I think the best NBA coach is Utah's Quin Snyder, even though he contributes to Republican campaigns. I freely admit that their are geniuses with whom I strongly disagree. So I would jump at hiring Snyder. If Kidd is the best available, then grow up and hire him. I don't know whether he is, but that should be the only consideration. Lillard thinks he is.
If you own a business, you hire the most competent you can. You don't hire half-assed competence because you require that they agree with you. Let's win games with a meritocracy, not shout hallelujah at church games like good losers winning the sportsmanship award. Fuck having to jump through moral hoops to get a job.
Been seeing this make the rounds. I believe it's from the All Star weekend. At least that's how she makes it sound on Twitter.
