Do Lillard's game winners match or outweigh that? Serious question.

it could. I think a valid argument could be made for both.

Outweigh IMHO. Percentages mean little (to me) when it comes to comparing them to game winning shots.

Durant shot better throughout the game so his team didnt need game winners. Lillard will have to outplay Durant tonight to have a chance.

I don't think it will be a problem. I mean, it probably would if I was voting for the award, but no one (nationally) brought up LMA's shooting in his week-ending-Nov.25 PotW...

    10-22
    4-20
    7-21
    7-20

They looked at his averages of 20/9 (including a 30-21 game) and a 4-0 record. I think the story (3-1 on a 4-in-5-nights road trip, 31ppg including 2 game-winners) and go with the story rather than the "efficiency" stats, and I'm not sure that's bad.

If you want to attribute that lone stat as the reason why they didn't need game winners, I got some swampland in Florida to sell you.

Durants stats overall are better than Lillard and his team is 3-0.

Perhaps, but hero ball, like flashy dunks, gets the glory. It's the marketing age we live in.

And he's Durant. I expect him to get it, unless something dramatic happens tonight.

So...what are everyone's player of the week predictions? Looks to me to be between Love and Lillard

    Lillard--2-1 record, 33.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 7 apg, .515 fg, .528 3p
    Love--1-3 record, 31.5 ppg, 15.3 rpg, 4.8 apg, .506 fg, .323 3p

If it were me I'd give it to Love out of pity. That team has a ridiculous amount of statistical production for a sub-.500 team. Love is averaging 26/14 on the year. Martin 20pts/40% from three. Rubio 8assists/2.7 steals. Pek 17/9.

If they aren't going to win games with these kind of numbers, they should at least get the odd Player of the Week thrown at them.

It's funny because that team would be so amazing if they would have drafted Steph Curry instead of Rubio or Flynn.

they also had the 2nd best odds in the Wall lottery and the best odds in the Kyrie lottery and ended up with Wesley Johnson and Derrick Williams. such is fate.

The game winners, including his in-bound lob and the long three late in the last game, should give it to Lillard. Lillard is the story.

Does Sundays game count in the week of games? I always assumed Sunday was the start of a new week for player of the week.

typical Anti Christian BS from the Jews!

actually, I never knew that. Including Sunday, even with his record being bad, Love makes a good argument. Has there ever been three players with such good #'s? (I'm sure there has, just saying)

Has there ever been a player whose team went 1-3 win the award? It's usually given to someone who puts up good numbers on a team that went 4-0 or 3-1. Lillard scored more, shot higher percentages and led his team to a 3-1 record. Love finished the week strong (in typical losing fashion), but he started the week going 9-26 and 2-11 from 3-point range in a loss to Boston. Not exactly the stuff of legend.

    Mike Tokito @mtokito
Clippers' Blake Griffin gets West Player of Week. Damian Lillard was nominated.

    Mike Tokito @mtokito
Griffin averaged 26.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, Clippers went 4-0. Hard to argue.
