The difference in Lillard's defense this season is like night and day. He's addressing the weakest part of his already impressive game. More power to him.
He's struggling with his shot a little at the moment but he's picked up his defense considerably, which has always been my only complaint about him. When you factor in qualities like his character and his loyalty, I'd say he's pretty much untouchable (and that's coming from someone who was disappointed by his drafting).
Lillard is the leader of a team that is currently one of the top 2 or 3 in the league by various advanced metrics. And that's with the Mighty Nurk underperforming.
Look at Lillard, Lowry, Conley, Wall and Irving this season, as many sit here and bash on Lillard. Lillard highest PER, WS/48, BPM, VORP, highest ORTG, second lowest DRTG, 2nd in TOV%. Grass is always greener, even when you're not looking at the other grass somehow. https://www.basketball-reference.co...nley&y5=2018&player_id5=conlemi01&idx=players
"two" posters who joined a day within each other, and both coincidentally have anti Lillard tendencies. Strange.
If Lillard shot is not falling "it's just a shooting slump" "it's just 5 games" If Lillard defense looks better it doesn't matter if are only 5 games. I mean, there's no ending to this, it's just unrealistic to have an unbiased conversation with Blazers fans from Portland and you can see national media make fun of that from The Ringer, Zach Lowe etc etc I still think that the absence of an Nfl, Nhl or Mlb team makes impossible to Blazers fans to be unbiased, they're just overprotective of their only show in town.
It's been years since I joined, Check my IP, check all you want, I have nothing to hide, I'm not a double account or another former user who's trying to act like another. I'm pretty sure I'm the only Italian fan posting here.
Why is it always someone with a clear and obvious bias that complains about the inability to have a reasonable "unbiased" conversation with people who don't agree with them?
Scoring a lot of points while shooting under 37% from 2pt range isn't an accomplishment. It just means you're chucking up a lot of shots.
Because here there are only Blazers fans, it's not like I'm posting in the general board of RealGM. Blazers edge and Blazers fans in general are known for be pretty biased, even on the national stage. C'mon guys, if it wasn't so clear how could I see that from Italy????
Gimme a fucking break. You made (another) thread, asking for people's ranking, with no desire to discuss their opinions, just to complain about how gasp! Blazer fans like Blazer players! You have your bias against Lillard, and created a thread to call others out on their positive bias.
Every fan base is biased and then there's the Blazers fans base who takes this to another level and national writers knows it well.
Do you understand basketball at all? For fucks sake, shooting is a much more volatile variable than defense effort. You can't have full control of how many shots fall, but you can always control effort. So a 6-game sample size of Lillard giving a new level of effort is more telling than 6 games with which he doesnt shoot a great percentage. Somehow, miraculously, I feel like you have no idea what I'm talking about.
