<div class="quote_poster">bringiton Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Can you please explain why he won the "fight". For a start Arsenal are a team in decline who are soon to be overtook by your illustrious neighbours Spurs so a move to Liverpool would now be seen as a climb UP the ladder.. He always says if there was another English team I would choose it would be Liverpool. My bit about him having a medical was only in jest if you couldn't see that ,well what can I say? By the way theres Pepe Reina and Xabi Alonso who are Spanish in the 1st team as regulars its hardly the Armada is it?</div> How can you say we are on the decline? Lets see some facts "Past Glory Scouser fan"...your team and Arsenal finished with the same ammount of points, so its pretty much a tie for third, we had injured "key" players and still managed to get same points, while yours were more healthy. Second, you spent more money than us, and you did nothing else extraordinary in the league than us, we got the best out of all series against you guys, in fact we pretty much kicked your scouser butt except for one game. Now tell me, if we are on the decline, they what would you consider yourself????.....dead?..forgotten?.....Yes I know....your going to say...well why did arsenal not win the CL yet? and that your team is better in Europe championships...bla,bla,bla.bla.....well, a great team starts by winning at their turf first and then take on the rest in europe. I hope you prove me wrong this next season, but liverpool are still consired by many here a cup team and have been on the DECLINE since they last won their Last prem, Its been so long I cant even remember it.
The only reason you got the same points as us is because we took our foot off the accelerator once we'd qualified for the CL again, were as you had to keep winning your games to fight off the mighty Bolton.
Liverpool have announced this morning the signing of contracts for Xabi Alonso and Momo Sissoko for another 5 yrs to go along with Gerrard, Carragher and Reina commiting themselves. This is great news as each of these are valuable members to our squad so the backbone of the team is staying strong.
Why bother re-signing Sissoko when Inter have offered £10m+ for him? It's not like he's better than Mascherano, Alonso or Gerrard. In fact. he can tackle and that get loads of yellow cards. That's about it.

Sissoko can tackle and gets booked by stupid referees who have got him as a marked man much the same as they did to Vieira and Essien plus the fact that Mascherano is only on loan so who knows what might happen with the contract he's got.

We've not paid a penny for him. He is on an 18mth loan which finishes at the end of 07/08 season but we then have 1st option to buy him at £17mil.
A friend of mine who's a big-time Hammers fan said that Liverpool paid ?10m to MSI (the third party that "own" Tevez and Mascherano) for a 24 month loan. ?10m for a loan!
There was money put up front for Mascherano, around £8million. However, Eto'o wont be signing for Liverpool or any other team as his agent has said that he wants to stay at the Nou Camp and Barca want to keep him.

I think Eto would be best for Liverpool. If you guys get Eto, Malouda and Simao, you could really compete for the league next season. But i do feel they will take time to settle in, during which period you will drop points. And the EPL is not like the la liga where you can win with 78 points, you need about 90. Which means you have to dominate from start to finish, there is no room for a slow start. So even if Liverpool make big signings i doubt they can compete in the league next season, but maybe season after next. Eto would be a brilliant signing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Eto'o is too big of a player for Liverpool, the only top striker i can see you signing if Owen.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><font size=""2"">Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has admitted "it would be wonderful" to play in front of the Kop for Liverpool.</font> The Cameroon striker, 26, has been linked to the Reds in recent weeks, with manager Rafael Benitez said to have placed him at the top of his summer shopping list. Eto'o insists he is not aware of any approach being made by the Champions League finalists, but revealed his admiration for the club and its fans. "The great thing about Liverpool is their team spirit - it is very strong," he told the Sunday Mirror. "But, for me, it is their fans who win matches for Liverpool because they have so much power. "They are fantastic. Any player would love to have those types of fans behind him. "I have played at Anfield in the Champions League quarter-final so I know all about their fantastic supporters. "It would be wonderful to have that kind of support as a Liverpool player but I really don't know what will happen in the next two years." Eto'o believes he will still be at the Nou Camp next season, despite his much publicised falling out with manager Frank Rijkaard earlier this year. He added: "I have not heard anything from Liverpool or anyone else. These things don't come through to me. "I'm only thinking about next season and I will be here next season. But every year that passes things become a bit more difficult. "English football has changed a lot for the better over the past few years. I've seen English teams playing matches which have been very exciting. "I love the way the fans in England get behind their team. I respect their mentality. "They are so positive in supporting their own team rather than, as happens in Spain, being against the opposition. "That's the big difference between England and Spain."</div> Link-<div class='htmltop'>HTML</div><div class='htmlmain'>http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/6854454</div> I actually read this a while ago. As long as Eto is interested in moving to Liverpool then i dont think that he is "too big" a player for Liverpool. Liverpool is a big club and under the new American owners they can afford to splash the cash. Anfeild is a fantastic stadium with a great atmosphere, in parcticular in European games. I think Eto may do well at Liverpool as well.
