Liverpool’s Crouch move to Portsmouth almost a done deal? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>According to the Daily Mirror, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp expects to complete an £8 million move for Liverpool striker Peter Crouch within the next 48 hours. Harry Redknapp has publicly expressed his desire to sign the striker before, but reports suggested that the initial £15 million price tag had deterred any potential buyers. However, it now seems that Liverpool have finally given in and reduced the asking price, which the Daily Mirror claims will be around the £8 million mark, as well as wages worth around £60,000-a-week. Crouch, 27, has played for Portsmouth before back in 2001/2002 before he signed for Aston Villa in a £5 million move. The 6 foot 7 inch striker now seems set to make the move back to Fratton Park where he arguably enjoyed his best form in his career, scoring 18 goals in 37 games. Redknapp’s said last week about the move: “Crouchy is a brilliant lad and I do like him a great deal. I suppose if Peter Storrie was negotiating with Liverpool though, he wouldn’t want me throwing figures around. “We might feel Liverpool want a little too much for him even at £10million. We might want to pay a bit less, so it wouldn’t be right for me to say a price.”</div>
Crouch isn't worth 10M GBP. Perhaps 7M or so. In any case, this would be a solid move for Portsmouth.
He is a liability on the offense, and needs pretty much everything to be done first and then he can score. And thats why he didn't fit well this past season with Liverpool. And I agree, around 5 to 7 million is enough. But glad that Liverpool is shopping him rather than keeping him on the bench. Let him get playing time some where else.
