    Hello darkness, my old friend
I know...millions of kids play this game for free while also doing their school work and engaging in other hobbies. It's obviously incredibly easy, really not work at all.

Today's athletes are just lazy. I remember when pro athletes played 52 minutes per game and then went back to their day jobs as coal miners.

George Mikan played 54 mpg, and players on the other team were allowed to hit him on the knees with sticks.

That's why he wore knee pads.

Man.. I'd love to see that George Mikan play in today's NBA if he's gonna be dribbling like that.

Again you're missing the point... statistical evidence is irrelevant in this case because I rule.

The only comment I have about Nate's comment is that, if LaMarcus does what his coach said, and rests during July and August (ala Miller), this board will tear him up and devour his still quivering flesh. And Talkhard will probably be the lead zombie.

His shots have been falling short, he's been getting pushed out on the perimeter more (fighting for inside position less) and his drives to the hoop are a bit slower. Of course the guy is worn out. I only wish we had someone else behind him that was taller than 6'7". We don't, so it's the reality for the rest of the year.

I certainly don't think he's tanking it. I just hope he does get a second wind to finish out the season/playoffs.

I'm sorry, I guess calling his comments "boneheaded" and "dumbass" like the first two in this thread did is completely different then calling him an idiot... my bad! Thanks for setting me straight Mr. internet police man

as an armchair observer myself, I think the experts are the guys who've been doing the NBA thing professionally for a while.

I'll take Dallas over San Antonio or LA any day of the week.

While I generally agree with your point, it's also the reason people still listen to Isiah Thomas and think Michael Jordan would make a fabulous GM.

there is an exception or two to every trend... of course. MJ and Isiah bring marketability to the table which is probably why they've drawn so many checks after their playing careers ended despite their results. Elgin Baylor worked on the cheap, etc... But in general, I think the experts are those who've been involved in the actual game long term, certainly much more so then us posters. Having played and around players lends some insights that smart people pick up on. If we want to criticize the opinions of the experts, the burden of proof is on our side as to why they're wrong. Based both on my experience with athletics and his expertise, I'm with Nate in feeling that 40 MPG is fine for a 25 year old stud like LA. Drink some fluids, get your rest, eat right, and bring it tomorrow.

btw... lyin' BrianGrantfan has assigned me all sorts of ridiculous views, this expert thing being just one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually agreed with me on the minutes thing, but mostly he wants attention so here we are. Of course everyone knows he has issues, so really whatever...

You know what "experts" in their field making choices proves about the perfection of those choices? NOTHING.

First, folks makes mistakes, including experts.

You think the engineers at Fukishima made good choices in the first week after the earthquake? I mean shit, they are experts. What the fuck do I know?

Second, the Peter Principle is in full effect in this world. Being labeled an "expert" doesn't make you exceptionally competent.

For another, the pressure to WIN NOW is immense. Nate has always leaned toward, "play your ass off now, win this game in front of you, and worry about the next game tommorow."

That mindset may lead to more success overall than not. But, it does not mean that fans who critisize the team for potentially overplaying Aldridge are all fucking idiots who "no nothing".

Your repeatedly trotting out that argument ("experts" know more than you morons) is tiresome.

Since you seem to know... what is the magic number of minutes that LMA should be playing?

Yep. That's why last night was so huge. SA has another gear in the playoffs; we've seen it too many times. We'd be lucky to break 80 points in any game in which we play them. And LA in the first round? It's an 8 on 5 sweep.

LA certainly wasn't the problem last night.

Seriously, how could you make a bigger ass of yourself? It's like you got on a meth bender for months on end and decided to share.

get a fucking grip. Read, comprehend, and respond after you've had a couple nights rest

I don't agree with STOMP on the minutes thing with LMA. At. All. I haven't seen BGrantFan for a while, but when I do, I'll get his opinion as well.

Aldridge saying he's dead tired for like 2 months now isn't enough for some people. They want....data?
