I agree. I just don't see it happening. I would be extremely saddened if it did. Probably feel the same way I did when Sheed was traded. Maybe worse because Sheed was run out of town and a lot of fans disliked his character.

We are simply discussing things that are supposedly being discussed. It keeps the boredom away and the fandom interesting. If it's being talked about, it's possible. You just have to believe. I believe you can fly. I will send you a crow's feather. Hold it tightly and jump off the tallest building you can find. And fly my friend. Fly.

LMA knows the Blazers have been in a rebuilding mode for the last decade and wants to leave because he doesn't want to keep starting over.

100 bucks says LMA doesn't finish his career in Portland because that's the way the NBA works.

So does that mean he wants out now? Who knows, but I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand; he's logged quite a few years with even the chance of sniffing a championship laying in a pile of ash and cinders in a dustbin and realistically he doesn't have much of a shot for at least another two or three if everything breaks perfectly and 30 years old isn't that far off.

That doesn't mean I'm eager to see LMA traded, but for the right deal Olshey would be fool not to at least entertain the thought.

I agree with you. I just don't see anything proposed yet that strikes a good deal, IMO.

Who said anything has been proposed? At best we have a lot of speculation and third hand reports suggesting what the Blazers might consider and what other teams might be willing to offer.

That's not exactly a huge risk. Name me five players in the past ten years that have spent their entire careers with one team (and haven't had their careers ended by injury or death). Olajuwon played for Toronto, Karl Malone played with the Lakers, Ewing played with... I forget now, but it was sad, and Jordan played with Washington. And they were ICONS for their teams.

My only point was that all of the posts laughing at the idea that LMA might want to move on seem to be overlooking the fact that it's the norm for all-stars in smaller markets to gravitate towards larger markets. That doesn't prove that LaMarcus wants out right now, but it's definitely not "out there" and something to be dismissed out of hand.

It's unreal, isn't it? Even more perplexing are the posters who use this as validation for their own opinion regarding LMA.

I'm fucking tired of the same 5 posters having their trade LMA circle jerks, and then getting pissy when the are mocked for the 'source' of the latest garbage rumor.

My understanding is that Cleveland only offered the Blazers their two picks (1 and 19) for LMA. I don't think they EVER offered Thompson, and in fact they think he's better than anybody in this whole draft. They didn't even want to give up Varejao.

If they are going to do this during draft day; they will need more than just Varejao. They will be about another 5 mil short.

There have been multiple media reports saying that conversations have been had. I asked someone else, so I will ask you too. Please provide an official list of websites, twitter feeds and overall media guys that are acceptable to use to pass on information and rumors. Denny can post them at the top of each forum site, and I will be happy to oblige.

Reports of conversations being had, yes. Aldridge wanting out? As far as I know that's just been some guy at probasketballdraft.com. probasketballdraft.com???? No information on that site as to who the heck they are or what their background is. Denny has as much credibility as that site.
