Her husband had to take a job there, so she had to join.

    Good lord, local radio?
I haven’t listen to the radio since maybe 2000-2001. It’s all horseshit.

He has the face for radio and the voice for silent movies, and the personality for print media.

This is the very definition of an ignorant opinion.

Gotta stick up for my boy so Ima gunna have to disagree about Colin.
I do like Eisen, for the same reason I like Cowherd..... he's an adult!
I find Colin's takes (and that is his job, to give takes) to be insightful, and he even does a segment where he actually holds himself accountable, each week, who else does that? I enjoy Colin's sense of humor, and his interviewing skills are top notch, just ask Dame.
My only issue with him is he's pretty NFL dominant, and rarely talks baseball.
I just got fed up with Jim Rome's EGO, and the yelling match (TV) that is first take.
As for the local guys, it's all about Issac & Suke, though I must admit I rarely listen to them, or any radio really, but they own this market. I believe they are now a top five for the longest tenured sportstalk duo in the nation, so thats pretty cool.
But, I had to go to bat for Cowherd, because I really enjoy his show (I watch on TV) a lot, actually, and his sexy (albeit conceited) co-host does a great job as his sidekick.
Hard to take on "The Big Dog" but, I really like Colin Cowherd.

Was wondering why in the world you'd go from Portland to Tucson, that's not a step up in the business! Going from market #21 to 64 isn't a move most destined for national would take but gotta do what you gotta do for the fam.

Tough to go away from Suke/Ropp for local guys, though I don't know enough about the local scene having not lived there for 12 years. Have a good friend that does Saturday morning's for 1080. Also played football with Suke and known him since I was in 6th grade, his dad coached me up at as kid and his brother was our line coach in HS, good family. I appreciate Suke doesn't play a character, he is just a character as is.

1190 back in the day was awesome with Mychael and Kermit, plus they had a guy on late night, might have been national (Greg Robinson?) that loved to talk Raiders so I was all about it and would fall asleep listening to him, of course as long as the Blazers weren't playing and then it was all about the Schonz "Wherever you might be, goodnight EVVVVVVVERRRRRYBODY" and then right into the 5th quarter!

Still wish I had gone into sports radio instead of TV ... and probably should have hoped on a podcast 10 years ago, now seems like everyone and their mother has one and just no way to really stand out.

Was Greg Robinson on 1190? I thought he was on 1520, back when they had the guy from KATU and in the mornings they have the Weaver guy.

My thing with CC is I really liked him in Portland when he was local. I remember him saying over and over about how there wasn't enough money to get him to Bristol and didn't want to live in BFE. Than he took the $$$ and all of a sudden developed this 'First Take' schtick and I couldn't listen any more. Maybe if I didn't know him before the act, then I could take it a little more seriously, but knowing what he was, makes listening to him now unbearable.

    It was 1520...early '90's.....KFXX..
I actually did the "sports updates" for a couple of months. Amazing experience, working with Michael Turner, Craig Crawford, and OSU's Mike Parker, was the star, i guess, along with Mychal & Kermit.
(side note...I had just gotten married, and my former father in-law wasn't too keen on an intern's salary, so bye-bye sports radio career)

Luke Anderson does Saturday mornings. That him? I like when he does fill in shows on other programs on 1080 (him and Suke do a great job). He won the radio contest years ago and is still going. I like him a lot.

Yea he's been one of my best friends since high school ... I wanted to compete in the contest but the fine print said 'anyone with prior broadcast experience wasn't allowed' ... good thing for him he had been doing stand up comedy for about a decade before that thing, so he was perfect for it. He's had me on a couple times when I've been home to talk about different things, really glad he's gotten a good shot there.

Same difference ... just feels like the market is loaded with guys trying to do the same thing ... need to be better about jumping on the next thing I guess.
