Donovan Mitchell and Dennis smith Jr. are far better in my humble opinion. T! Where u watching the game player!?
I watched the draft with my dad. And, because he grew up in L.A., is a Lakers fan. He did a very genuine Cpt. Picard "face-palm" after the selection. I had to stifle my laughter.
Do I have to explain everything? Ok. There are birds. And then there are bees. The birds spot the bees whilst they are seeking nectar from forbidden, yet tempting, flowers. The moment the bird's beak nabs the juicy flesh of the bee, a magical reaction takes place. The bee, feeling both intense pleasure and pain, lets go a mighty geyser of life matter which begins to change over time. In 9 months it turns into a Stork. That Stork then flies to the nearest village and drops a baby human onto the laps of some unfortunate man and woman. Sometimes, the bee has AIDS though. Thems the breaks kid.
IMO, the Ball hype is because his big skill is spectacular in nature--his passing in the open court is legitimately beautiful and that turns heads. If his one great skill were rebounding or defense, he'd be a much less heralded prospect. It is a nice skill to have but unlike, say, efficient scoring, it can't carry a player on its own. Without great defense or shooting, he won't be even close to a star. He'll be a lesser version of Ricky Rubio (since Rubio can play defense). It's too early to say he can't shoot, but as long as he sticks with that awful release, he'll only be able to shoot wide open threes or step-back threes to generate the space to get it off. He even had one blocked in that highlight reel.
