In two three years now he will be the all time leading scorer in NETS history. Getting rid of carter would be a dream come true, because he is 31 with no legs to jump anymore. I think the future looks bright, and maybe with some time with M-Williams, I know everyone is down but it could be a confidence issue, I think we could start Harris at SG. We could have a starting five of M-Williams, Harris, Jefferson, Krstic, Boone. Thats not a bad starting 5 to have out there. Listen I know Marcus looks like a bust, but first off he missed alot of training camp, a third of the season, and he was a backup to Kidd, losing minutes to D-Armstrong. He might just be rusty, but if we throw him into the starting lineup and let him go 35 minutes a night, we might be surprised at the results. Just a thought! </div> You've obviously drunk the Magic Johnson coolaid. Carter's problem has been the ankle he badly sprained in the 6th game of the season. He's been playing in pain and dealing with swelling all season because that's what many people expect and demand and because his team lost the next 5 games without him in mostly hideous blowouts. However instead of getting credit for "manning up", as nearly every other player would get and as RJ got last year with virtually the same problem, he's again been labeled as somehow defective . . . washed up or a "dog", in this case. Since the cortisone shot before the Atlanta game in late January, he's looked remarkably more explosive. If you just compare the number of alleyoops and dunks in games since then compared to what he was doing the rest of the season, it's plain as day. Of course he's not as supremely explosive as he was at 23 or even 27. There are 10 NBA seasons of wear and tear on his joints. But, when healthy, he is still in the top 20% or better athletically in the league. He is also a better playmaker than he was as a youngster and still one hell of a basketball player. And I would like to see the Nets try to average 70 points a game without him.
