This ebola is freaky. Like the calm before the storm, bros.

can't wait to re-bump all these fucking hipster-CDC experts saying we have nothing to worry about. That'll show them...when we're all DEAD.

Now we have another, and flying about with the shit to boot!

This administration is so frigging incompetent... The only words that come to mind are
High Crimes and Misdemeanors, I think the Constitution has a prescription for those.

Nobody should be coming or going to West Africa period! Got it under control my ass!

Sending the military to West Africa is abuse of the military, it just compounds the fuck up.

I'm not sure anyone else would have terminated travel from the infected regions... So blaming Obama most likely isn't going to solve anything. Also, nobody else has came from there infected.

Edit: also I am under the impression that the Duncan guy lied when coming over about his vitals.

Edit Edit: and yes sending the military over to the infected regions is abuse, i agree w/you there.

Many countries in Europe have ban air travel from West Africa, several weeks ago.
It should be obvious to any observer that we are not prepared to deal with infected people.
One guy cashes through and we already have two people that have contracted the disease and maybe a hundred now on a watch list. A watch list of dubious value I might add, since they obviously can fly.

Who the hell do you want to blame? The administration are the only people that can impose travel restrictions and enforce who gets admitted to the US, diseased or not.

Seems to me the best plan is to cure it and deliver the cure over there.

If we don't allow travel there, many more will catch it and even more will suffer from lack of assistance.

    A few things.

They now think the nurses dog might have Ebola.

The U.S. had not had a surgeon general, the main person to give advise to podus on subjects like this for a very long time because the republicans refuse to let any confirmations take place.

It's a very fine line on when to ban traffic from a giant swath of this world. I'm not saying we should or shouldn't yet, but there are many people with vast experience and whom have studied exactly this for years and they tend to be saying that's not the right course of action from reports I've seen. I'm sure there are experts on all sides though.

Agreed. And from everything I've read, a large infusion of funds into Ebola research should be able to find the answer. Most likely first will be a vaccine, perhaps right around the corner. Won't help much with the infected but could halt the disease from spreading any further. Unlike the flu, there is no evidence that this is a rapidly changing virus so blanket vaccinations should work, like with polio.

How about Thomas Eric Duncan who allegedly lied on the questionnaire that he had been in contact with ebola patients so that he could board the plane to the U.S.?

How about the health "professionals" at the Dallas hospital who Duncan spoke to initially and told that he had a fever, abdominal pain, and had just come from friggin' LIBERIA yet they DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING SCREEN HIM FOR EBOLA and let him leave?

How about the CDC who didn't stop Amber Vinson from getting on a plane after she called and reported an elevated temperature of 99.5?

All three are examples of unforgivable negligence and/or selfishness. The ineptitude that has been going on with basically everyone involved is staggering, to the level I almost wonder if this is a conspiracy to create an epidemic. Because I simply can't wrap my head around this level of incompetence.

If these are the people that stand between us and an epidemic in the U.S., then we should all be extremely worried.

Spot on Nobs! I think I may have been in error though to call this inept. At some point this level of ineptitude becomes and in plan operation. We are in deep crap.

Unless there's a cure found, it's only a matter of time, before ebola is in your neighborhood.

.....and...its in New York City. Doctor from Doctors without Borders confirmed with Ebola. Lived in Harlem, took a bunch of public transportation, visited the High Line, ran/jogged around town apparantly.

If a few people catch it...hello shitshow.

If you can catch in there, you can catch it anywhere

Still no known spread outside of the healthcare workers because it's only spread through bodily fluid. Wait and see, but I still doubt it will be a problem at all in America for every day non healthcare workers.
