Start Freeland: like Lopez, he's a hound for the offensive boards, so the starters would play about the same as normal.
I'm less concerned about the guy that replaces Lopez (Kaman or Freeland) than for the guy it forces into the rotation (Robinson or Leonar_). Interesting.
Just last year, we would have been devastated by this loss. Kaman was a huge pick up. Now we are worried about our permanent problem from last year as just a temporary problem. (Back up big)
Repped. Should be TRob and Joel replacing Rolo's mins. Keep Kaman as our bench scorer for 20mpg, and Leonard glued to the bench.
Woj and his "source" (smh) say Rolo's gonna be out for a month. How does he get a timeline when Lopez has yet to be fully evaluated?
It sucks that we lose Rolo. Hopefully it is closer to 1 month than 2. In the long run maybe it helps and maybe even in the short term. Right now the rest of the team is sleep walking through these games. Playing a little too lackadaisical IMO. They need to step up their focus and play with a little more urgency and hustle.
I say start Freeland since he's like Robin and doesn't take away from the other starters. Play kaman normally. The best move, though, is to cut Leonard. I think the chair he uses on the bench could do better than him.
I don't get the TRob talk. He's barely a power forward, and he's certainly not a center. TRobs increased minutes, if any, will come due to Freeland or Meyers taking minutes at the center position. I see this as an opportunity to give Meyers some consistent minutes and a consistent role. If I were the coach I'd give him two weeks and see if he settles in. Starting Kaman seems obvious, but isn't. We don't need a black hole gunner at the starting center position, and we don't want him to get injured. Either Meyers or Freeland should start, and be directed to defend, rebound, and set screens. Maybe we start Freeland and have Meyers continue to back up LaMarcus?
I see Freeland starting, Kaman playing his same role off the bench, and increased minutes for t rob. I don't see Leonard getting much court time with Aldridge
