    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tko51)</div><div class='quotemain'>OK, so Donovan McNabb struggled.

I'd gladly take Peyton Manning's stats for Losman regardless of if he threw 28 INTs - two more then TD passes.

As for Aikman - he didn't have the weapons of Smith and Irvin in his rookie year did he?

Dallas was rebuilding and that was at the time when it took years to rebuild your team unlike today (actually more like 5 years ago when we were seeing teams go from 5-11 or worse to more then ten wins the next season).

The league is a lot different now then what it was back when Elway, Aikman were coming into the league - if JP didn't have the weapons he has now, I'd say the jury was still out on him until we got him a RB and some viable recievers. When did Elway ever have a team around him up until his superbowl years and just before when he had Terrell Davis and Rod Smith (remember when the Broncos were putting up the best record in the NFL for the few years before the superbowls)?</div>

Aikman did have Irvin, but not Smith. He had a guy by the name of Herschel Walker who was pretty good when he was with the Cowboys (then was traded in the worst trade ever to the Vikings, which gave them Smith via draft pick).

Regardless of who Aikman had around him, you have to say that he struggled...9 TDs and 18 INTs is a horrible line to have.

Manning's numbers are good his rookie year ... for a rookie. They still leave something to be desired as a good QB.

Regarding Elway, remember that he got to the Superbowl 3 times without a team around him...his talent went way beyond the surrounding cast.

Your defense that the league has changed just doesn't hold any water. Are you saying that the qualifications for a good QB are different now? That it is a completely different game? I could have pulled stats from the 40's to back up my claim, but I went back just 10-15 years with the stats I gave you.

My point is this...the rookie season can give you some idea of how good a QB can be, but it is by no means an absolute way of knowing how a QB is going to do. There have been FAR too many dissappointments (see Tim Couch) who had decent first years then failed, and many great QB's who struggled early in their careers (Brett Favre had 5 passes his rookie season - 2 were INT's - he looked absolutely lost).

Losman could be a good QB...who knows? He has all the skills to be a great QB, but so did Ryan Leaf, Cade McNown, etc.

When you can't provide any substance for your argument, intangibles are the easy crutch.

How do you know he has heart, he hasnt played any games. You dont know how he is when he is down 29-0, if he gives up or comes out and keeps playing

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tko51)</div><div class='quotemain'>No, I'm saying that he's already better then Bledsoe - Bledsoe contributed to a lot of negative plays - Losman has been good for positive to no yards lost - Having a lot fewer 3rd and 7s, 8s and 9s will probably result in longer drives and more time of posession for us.

Try to quote me anywhere saying the Losman is gonna be the best QB in the league for us - you can't.</div>

Had to bring this up. When I first read this post I thought you were on something. Losman is not better than Bledsoe. Maybe someday,b ut you cannot say that he is 'already' better than Bledsoe.

Do you still stand by this statement?

Yeah, I figured as much. Kind of dissappointing. I don't mind people talking big, but they better expect to get it handed to them if they get embarrassed.

What's really disappointing is Losman's performance. Our secondary is hurting bad. Mathis is gone for the season, Webster's hurt and didn't play, Hall was hurt in the game and didn't play for a while. Most of our secondary was backups and Losman only completed 10 passes for 75 yards and an INT. Horrible!

Are all those guys going to be hurt next week? (please say yes)

Hall will be ready to go. I'm not sure about Webster or Rossum even. Rossum might be back, I know we really need Rossum back to handle the kick and punt returns because right now we're hurting in that area.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tko51)</div><div class='quotemain'>He made only THREE that's right THREE mistakes - that boiled down to like maybe a quarter of the snaps he took at the most - I'll gladly take that from a rookie QB with his potential when I consider the fact that he didn't get sacked, and that he doesn't sit in the pocket and wait to get hit like Bledsoe did last year - he sits in the pocket for 3 seconds, and then he gets the hell out of it all the while looking to throw the ball - if nothing's there, he takes off with it.</div>

    I hate to pile on....

    Through week 3 -
Losman - sacked 7 times in 79 pass attempts
Bledsoe - 6 times in 98 pass attempts

Guess he shouldn't wait 3 seconds. Good thing Bledsoe isn't there. Your OL might have killed the guy.

.....ok, maybe that was a little fun. I gotta take my shots when I can. Its a long season.
