On the bright side, maybe we could then clean up what has become an eye sore and return it to the beautiful city it used to be.

Do you mean EVENTUALLY, or in year one? Because EVENTUALLY somebody always does, but some draft classes are very meh in their first year - that's how you get ROYs like Brogdon, Carter-Williams and Tyreke Evans.

seeing the 11 pick removed from the title of this thread is so depressing

    Blake Griffin
    Harden
    Steph

    all in Tyreke Evans draft

    Simmons
    Brown
    Ingram

    in the Brogdan draft

All those players were good in year 1 or 2

There are more, but you get the gist

Would rather try to trade a future 1st. Or try to get a 1st for Keon and flip it to Chicago.

I'm just afraid of what Cronin would do if we had all our picks.

Tyrese averaged 20 his rookie year. Not a bad ROY at all.

That's true. If we had gotten the pick this year, by 2023 we would have an idea what we have. Now we likely won't know until 2206 or 27. Whether you support trading Dame or trying to build around him, the pick becomes is irrelevant.

    Aargh! 2026 not 2206!

Why is he not just like Dennis Smith Jr.? The better question is, "what the heck happened to Dennis Smith Jr.?"
It looks like for sure Smith Jr. was drafted by the wrong team. Rick Carlisle wanted Donovan Mitchell and as the season went on lost trust in Smith Jr. even though he was a rookie. It got worse when Luka Doncic arrived the next season.
"Multiple players were shocked during one early-season team meeting when Carlisle accused Smith of being jealous of Doncic, sources said. The players considered it incredibly unfair to Smith, who wasn't playing well but was making an honest effort to mesh with Doncic on the court. Doncic particularly resented what he perceived as Carlisle's attempt to pit him against his friend and teammate, team sources said."

Bill Patton. The only actor to be killed by an alien, a predator, a terminator, and agent Coulson. Uniquely qualified to be a Blazer GM!

Unfortunately Bill Paxton was taken from us too soon at the age of 61 around five years ago, so his unique qualifications will not be of use to the Blazers as a GM but if he were alive I would sing off on it.

So only 183 more years of this malaise, no biggie. Patient bear waits patiently.

The frustrating part is there remains no clear plan or direction. No one really knows if they are building around Damian still (i guess they are?),or starting over (they unloaded contracts for young guys and picks so maybe?), or trying to do both? Is it just a retool but at same time get younger? There must be a plan that suddenly unfolds right before our eyes, because as of now I have no idea
