He meant of Nurk's house, not your ex-girlfriend. Those go to Sly.

Want and get are two different things.

Jokic is a stat monster and with his 3-point range and passing ability is better suited for today's game. However, his defense is terrible, he hasn't been able to lead his team to the playoffs and he actually regressed a bit last season (I think opposing defenses have started to figure him out). He has a great feel for the game, but is slow footed and soft. I guess that's what $146 million buys you these days.

I dunno, that was a questionable signing but not a bad contract. Didn't we have to spend the money that year to hit the minimum?

No--that was summer 2016, the summer of Turner and Crabbe. We were well over the minimum by the time that summer was over...

The only saving grace was the second year wasn't fully guaranteed (only $1 million, which during the summer of 2016 was like 25 cents in real world dollars). Neil basically spent right up to, but not over, the luxury tax limit with the option to cut Ezeli loose if it didn't work out. It didn't. He did.

Hey, i'm all for a guy having to prove his worth, but I think Nurk already has. Yes he has been inconsistent, but he's a developing young center who I believe will only get better. The Blazers are dominant when he's at his best. Without him, this team is open market in the post for anyone to search and destroy. I hope it all works out, but letting Nurk get to UFA is not good IMO. And Collins IS NOT A CENTER, so the replacement is not already in place.

Glad I'm not a Nuggets fan. Ouch. The market will dictate what Nurkic gets and if he thinks he deserves that kind of money then I would just as soon see him leave now. Denver is going to be buried under that contract for a long time.

We invested heavily in a #10 pick? That's as faulty of logic as I've ever heard. It's very debatable whether Center is even Collins' best position.

Whatever happens with Nurk has nothing to do with Collins.

Collins practicing against Nurk has a lot to do with his development

I was of this mind as well, but I really think Collins' best position after he gets some strength will be the 5. He's mobile enough to switch on guards and protect the rim. But he can't truly defend guys who are suddenly becoming 4s like Lebron/KD/Giannis/Simmons when they're on the ball so much.

The staff has already said they want to see Collins playing closer to the basket....he's going to be a center who can play some 4

That is a pretty good article IMO. Like Handiman said I don't see Collins being a full time center so he is not too much of a factor in the Nurk decision. But the evaluation of him, and pretty much all centers his size, is pretty dead on. They are all limited in covering the perimeter, much like PF's you need two types on your team. Collins and Aminu are a good tandem defensively at PF and Nurk/Collins is pretty good at center. Add Davis and the defensive side is pretty covered. Although I am hoping Aminu's minutes go down in favor of Collins at PF.

The write ups on the others players are pretty good too in that article. Would love to get Marcus Smart somehow. I think he can play SF.

Derrick Favors is a UFA and may not fetch much more than the MLE, or perhaps the MLE, given that he's bulked up a bit over the years he is now really a C and turns 27 in July, if Nurk wants the moon Favors is a guy to consider IMO

Our MLE is like 5 mil/yr - whatever we give Gary Trent. No way we get Favors for that low a number.

    Two word answers only.

    Injury prone.
    Too soft.
    Doesn't rebound.
    Can't shoot.

    No thanks.
