Well, I sold my replica Luke Babbitt jersey for $50 on craigslist a few days ago. I originally thought the size Large would be the same fit as my Large Brandon Roy jersey. Umm no, not the case. If I had ordered it as a medium I probably would have kept it for nostalgia case.

Anyhow, theres no Oregonlive articles on Luke Babbitt on any possible interest in him on any team so far. I assume he will be a tumble weed in the wind?

Or will he play overseas in Europe or China?

If we don't find anyone else, I wouldn't mind signing Babbitt to a cheap contract, he has the chance to be a Kyle Korver type player in the NBA. We all know he can be a great shooter, but he's been streaky. Korver makes his living being a 40+% shooter, wheras Babbitt only shot 35% last year, which doesn't cut it for a 3pt specialist, but he can do better than that.

This guy can probably go to Europe and get a lot more money and playing time. He's good against lesser competition.

Babbitt's problem is he's just too slow/unathletic to play SF and too short/weak to play PF. He's a one-trick pony and hasn't used the time on his rookie contract to develop his game.

He may find a spot on an NBA team that needs a stretch four, but more likely he'll need to work on his Spanish or Greek.

I doubt this. He may not get paid much, but he will always find a home in the NBA. He just needs to be in the right situation. He is a decent rebounder when he gets minutes, he is pretty smart, and he can shoot the 3 as good as almost any player in NBA. There will always be room on the end of the bench for a player like that.

Yeah, I'm still reeling from the idea that somebody plonked down hard cash for a Babbitt jersey. That says something about a person - none of it good.
