If anyone can make a viable NBA player out of Luke Babbitt, I'd think Monty Williams would be the guy to do it.
Babbit had a great run the last half of the season when we traded away Gerald Wallace. He was leading the league in 3point shooting accuracy until the final games when some Knick, I think Novak, beat him out for it. He's accomplished more in the NBA than Allen Crabbe, Will Barton, Victor Clavier, and Meyers Leonard.
Babbitt dribbles just fine for a stretch 4. Certainly not for a 3, but definitely for a 4. He will find a home.
I have to agree with King on this one. In their respective times in Portland, Babbitt was > than Wright has been. (Has been. I made a pun, and didn't know it.)
http://bkref.com/tiny/msovY Good lord, I had no idea until I checked... No wonder Wright is riding the end of the bench.
From watching the games I don't think he's doing that bad. Obviously he's not doing great, but I've seen him do some good things, and to me, he still looks like he belongs out there.
uh....I don't think so and I watched him for 3 years here, he does rebound ok and can shoot the 3 in stretches but I'm no Luke Babbit fan by any stretch of the imagination. Also apparently nobody liked him off the court.
Too bad denver did not sign him so we could watch teams score 150 a night Jj and babbitt together is a beautiful thing for opposing players
Most players shoot 3s in the flow, on the move with a hand in their face. Babbitt had plays designed just for him. Often when he shot, no one was within 12 feet of him. So his average 3 point % was actually below average. When posters wrote that he had shooting ability, I would post, "Psst. It's a secret, but Babbitt can't shoot."
