Alright guys, Ive done some research and found some interesting news....EA has paid the NFL a sum of $300 million to have exclusive rights to make an NFL game for the next 5 years....that means Madden is safe for 5 years, but the ESPN title is dead....no one else can make a game for any system that uses NFL teams, players, or stadiums....that also means no $20 game next year and no lower Madden cost because of it....a lot of people arent happy about this and one of them expressed it with the cover below....

They just took this years cover and changed parts of the back to make a statement....notice instead of "Fear the Defense", it says "Fear our Wallets" and all the features have been rewritten to make fun of EA too....

same here but i was planning to enjoy the 29.95 price to compete with ESPN next year, i was just wondering also. why would EA pay sooo much money to buy out the rights to all team names and stuff so other people cant make games. I'm sure they lose more money than gain. Although idk. But it seems kind of unfair to me. I mean NFL Fever wont be out or ESPN whatever. Not that i like those games i'm just thinkin of other people. Wow the NFL must of been flattered when someone offered them all that money to have the rights of the names. 300 mill, they must have like signed the contract once the proposal was made. i think its stupid, but good deal for the NFL

They make insane money on Madden just in one year...I bet 300 mil is like a drop in the bucket for them to not have to compete with anyone....but I'm not complaining because ESPN and any other football games are 2nd class compared to madden. The only thing I'll miss out on is buying ESPN when it comes out early then trading it in for like 5 dollars less than I paid for it when Madden comes out....I thought that worked quite nicely last season to help hold me over while waiting for Madden.

I would like to see the entire Patriot's team, though, although I haven't figured out how they will possibly get them on the cover.</div>

That would be cool but Madden hates the Pats....I'd be shocked even if Brady was on the cover...though I think it should just be a pats logo with 3 Lombardi trophys on the cover....hehe

True but the fact that last years Madden (2005) had added the new hit stick technology to "crack" one at the opponents and for me, was very fun to take out my anger on the other team, hehe. And it gives you 30 seasons and more! So far I am not even barely through half of it and I'm still urging to play it.
