I doubt this is going to happen. Rumors of an Artest-Maggette swap are now circulating and I haven't heard Orlando brought up once other than this article. Maggz may want to play here but it doesn't seem like we want him enough to work something out with Los Angeles.

<div class="quote_poster">GatorsowntheNCAA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I know his jump shooting has improved and he's not like a Trevor Ariza shooting the ball, but doesn't he try to penetrate before looking for his jump shot? We need someone that can and do willingly set up behind the 3 point line and jack up and make a good percentage of 3's. Hedo is that guy. I think Maggette is probably a better all around player and is way more athletic then Hedo, but I just think Hedo fits into our system more of trying to spread the floor. He is basically our only consistent jump shooter that we have right now. JJ and Diener won't get enough minutes when everyone comes back to count in this.</div>

when i was talking about maggette's shooting... i was referring to when he came back from his injury... normally 50 is a player that tries to get to the line or at least penetrate (you are right)... but i was just saying that he is capable of drilling jump shots from all over the floor, and he makes a high percentage of his jump shots... i know what you are saying Gators about someone that can drill 3s with no conscience, and i agree 50 is not that guy... but he would definitely help in all aspects and is CAPABLE (not a pure shooter i know) of making his outside shots. i would rather have a player like reshard lewis, allen, or even a raja bell... but i dont think that is the answer.

either way... i doubt we will see this trade happen.

There's no way we can acquire him. We wouldn't be able to trade anybody and Otis Smith is way too cautious.

Apparently talks between the Kings and Clippers have died and Maggette is still looking for a new home. Any chance we re-enter the C-Maggz sweepstakes?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Even though trade discussions between the Kings and Clippers have apparently ended, Corey Maggette remains very available.

“The Clippers want to get rid of Maggette in the worst way,” said one league general manager. “And Artest had worn out his welcome in Sacramento halfway through last year. The thing that gets me is that Iverson gets a rap when you think about these two. At least Iverson goes out and tries to win for you every night.”</div>
