(AP) -- Point guard Chris Whitney signed with the Orlando Magic for the rest of the season Friday, two days after being waived by the Denver Nuggets. Whitney was to join the team in New York for Friday night's game against the Knicks. To make room on the roster, Orlando placed center Olumide Oyedeji on the injured list with a sprained left ankle. He averaged 0.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 22 games, and had played only three times since mid-January. In Denver, Whitney averaged 9.6 points and 4.3 assists but was plagued by a left ankle injury most of the season. He missed eight games after injuring his ankle Nov. 5, then went on the injured list a second time Dec. 20. The nine-year veteran was one of Denver's best outside shooters and provided stability at the point for a mostly inexperienced team. He became expendable when the Nuggets acquired point guard Shammond Williams from Boston. what does everyone think of this move? i think it's good for the magic, they get another scorer to help tmac, this will hurt jacque vaughn, darell armstrong, and jeryl sassers minutes, but whitney will be a good helper for tmac. gabe is turning smart now it seems :shock:
