They were scared to draft Kenyon Martin #1 in the 2000 NBA Draft...luckily they didn't make a mistake , Orlando made a mistake...you can't lose with either guy..but Okafor is the better choice by Logic..not only he has upside too and low post game and defese and rebounding..but didn't we just see Ben Wallace and Defense winning championship? or a monster in the paint (Shaq) winning a championship? or just Defense winning a championship? (Spurs) ...Shaq alone can't do it..of course..and Lakers were injured and not inspired as before (Shaq) ... EDIT: sorry about repeating same thing lol..
I would have been happy with Okafor too, but I think we made the right choice. I think a lot of you guys are underrating Dwight, because he isn't as good as Lebron. He's in Lebron's shadow, he's not going to be as good as Lebron right away, but I still think we picked one hell of a player. Now I just hope JD does his thing and let's Dwight play.
Hey, nobody expected Amare or Wade to make such a huge impact so quickly. The guy hasn't even played a game yet and you guys are already trashing him. I've wanted Okafor since day 1 but I can live with Howard(I cant live with Francis :mrgreen: ) Instead of trashing him, just hope he becomes the next KG. Don't compare him to Curry and Chandler. Those guys were stiffs. Howard has the charisma and he looks like he really want to prove those doubters wrong. I bet 3 months into the season EVERY Magic fan will be on jock. You'll start seeing tons of Howard avatars & sigs around here. You'll see.

Someone said to me yesterday that Dwight is Kwame with a bible. Which might not be far off. I don't expect him to produce for at least 1 season, I'm guessing he will back-up Drew Gooden and slowly get into your rotation. Orlando will regret passing up on Okafor, I've said it ever since the start of the college basketball season. Emeka is Ben Wallace with offense, I picked them to win the NCAA championship and they did. I don't expect to be wrong about this guy. He is going to be a speical player. It's a shame he will be stuck on an expansion team that likely won't be decent for at least 3 seasons.
I wanted Okafor from jump as well. Even some of the professional nba anyalst says hes better for the job. If Howard really wants to play for this team and really wants Tracy to stay then he'll have to go out there and bust his ass from tip off till the last buzzer every game of next season. He has alot on his shoulders right now.

Emeka will be great for more than 10 years... I don't belive hes going to come right in and be a factor.. I am sorry I just don't see it.. I am going to keep down on him until he becomes "what hes supposed to become" if he EVER does that. I have watched many Okafor games, trust me. The guy has no back problem, and he is the real deal. Everyone said he shouldnt of played in the Big East championship, but he still did.. And he played in every game that Connecticut crushed, when he really didn't have to play. The guy has a lot of heart so I don't think there is any question.. Plus a lot of upside himself...

The workout with Dwight was supposed to be great and Dwight said he left feeling at peace with himself because he was feeling confident he would be the 1st pick.
Howard is NOTHING like Kwame. Kwame had no personality and looked like a big bore. Howard's personality reminds me of Carmelo. He's always always smiling,having a good time, and REALLY wants to improve his game. I hope Okafor and Howard BOTH become great players. Being that they'llbe in the same division it'll some kind of rivalry. Maybe like Ewing and Mourning back in the day.
Kwame's low post moves his first year were better than Dwight's right now...that's what I'm saying but hey...don't get me wrong I'm not hating on Dwight...and I'm not saying Wesbroid was brainwashed by the media...I'm saying everybody (fans) were brainwashed..they didn't even see a clip probably until the draft, you couldn't lose with either one..obviously Dwight's height and outside game and ball handling is not common..
