I wonder if we will just waive him. I'm sure someone would pick him up.

we should just waive him, there really is no point of him just sitting on the bench

Ugh, there was interest in Magloire and they couldn't figure something out for Herrmann, who's just sitting there?
I've never really understood how this works- can't you bundle a pick with a guy to make up a salary difference?

Pistons wanted to dump Murray so the Nets could've taken him and Herrman and cut Murray or someone else like KVH.

Either the Pistons really didn't want Magloire that bad or they preferred to keep Herrman.

future picks have no monetary value. . . .

I really expected Boki to be gone and totally complete the new attention to defense. Magloire . . . .what a waste of $4 million.

Wait, but you can trade a salary for a pick. Can you not do it if there's a player with a different salary involved?

someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that there has to be a trade exception involved or the team receiving the player has to be below the cap.

damn, how does nobody want an expiring contract, two if you add boki

Or the Nets didn't want to add salary beyond this year.

I'm amazed that Magloire hasn't asked or hinted for a trade all season. Sure he's getting his paycheck, but I'm sure Magloire is inching to play. Unless Frank shows some sympathy, Jamaal will probably be stuck at the end of bench for the reminder of the season.

If Mags is a good soldier throughout, he should get a few offers this summer. He had a few this past offseason, but saw the nets as the greatest chance of winning this year.

I really wonder if he isn't hurt in some way. No one was saying anything out of fear it would hurt his trade value. Would explain why he isn't complaining. Also explains why he runs like his knees are locked and why he was jumping rope and riding the stationary bike when not playing.

I agree. Someone mentioned this a few months ago--may have been you--and I thought it was an eye-opening comment back then. I wonder if the Nets are going out of their way not to embarass him by not saying anything about him publicly.
