Kind of funny... I ran into Neil on Friday and he was in the best mood I've ever seen him in -- I was in a hurry so we didn't chat long, but I asked him about it and he made a passing comment about the weather and how nice it is to be able to enjoy it in the offseason. When the Hood news broke, I assumed THAT was why he was so happy... Didn't anticipate multiple more layers to that!
I gotta say, I appreciated that ML kept working and tried to do what they asked him to do. Im glad that his last games in Portland were some of the best in his career, but I think this is a move thats good for Portland and good for him. A change of scenery could help him grow, maybe a new defensive system may fit him better than Stotts’ has. I got no hate for ML (or Mo), but I think all three players should be happy for a change in this trade, and both franchises could look at this trade and be happy with it. We can take a select few games from ML and say look how awesome he is, but we can also take quite a few of his games over the last few seasons and think why is this guy an NBA player other than he’s tall? I really hope he has success down in Miami assuming thats where he ends up this summer, but this type of trade was needed, it was time for both sides to move on.
MAGNIFICENT job by Neil Olshey. I'm very excited for the season. Let's hope Kawhi doesn't join the Lakers.
I have enjoyed your optimistic posts, and hope you still support the team even though Meyers is no longer here! Swish3’s forever!!
