At the same time, the guy had blood all over him. So you assume the worst. It doesn't take a big knife to kill you. It also so happens the police know how fast a person with a knife can close the gap and kill you with it. It can happen very fast. So fast, that a person can close the gap and kill a person with a gun before they can pull a trigger.
If a person is every fatally shot by a police officer in England, the police officer is immediately suspended with pay and given a court date. They will investigate the shooting and deem it necessary or an over-reaction. Over here, the cop will automatically be given benefit of the doubt, a statement will be released, and that will be the end of it. That just doesn't make sense to me.
