He wasn't arrested or charged, just detained. Visiting a 'friend' doesn't mean you should be locked up for 5 days. Exactly why is he a "piece of shit", too?

He is a student at UCSD, so obviously he has enough of a brain to get into a UC school.

Tax dollars at work. None of those drugs are nearly as dangerous as the laws and DEA policies against them. Add this $$$$ to the war on drugs total.

MDMA is pretty dangerous, as are illegal prescription drugs. The pot and mushrooms, meh.

You are absolutely right. It drains your serotonin receptors. If you use it excessively; those receptors can fail and never produce serotonin again.

And there have been overdoses. I never liked MDMA.

I know you're kidding, but even once a month over a few years can fuck up a brain's serotonin production for years. It's a dangerous drug, especially when you consider the primary age that uses it are 16-25 or so.

Even Suicide Mondays sucked for me and could extend into Tuesdays on the rare times I partook when I was younger on a Saturday night.

Not if you take it once or twice, though. It 'can' happen, but it's not proven that everybody who tries MDMA even once ends up with chronic depression.

Absolutely. Problem is the kids are stupid and take it frequently.

once can fry your Serotonin receptors. basically what I recall the mechanism of MDMA is that it releases all of the serotonin into the neuromuscular junction and keeps it circulating..basically mimicking the effects of a massive dosage of anti-depressants which keep serotonin in there. It permanently changes the sensitivity of the Serotonin receptors and makes them less optimal, even with sporadic or one time use.

people who "occasionally" partake are the first ones to deny the long term neurological effects of only "recreational use".

You were quite literal in saying that all get chronic depression, and then 'off yourself'.
