no, i was just saying some guys might want to package him with rj or vc to get a really good package

we have all rights to hype up sean, we havent had a kid this exciting since RJ. the POTENTIAl is all there, he is def. imprving his offensive game and his rebounding, you can actually see the imrpovements from game to game. it all comes so easy to him. he's also so nimble and limber enough to switch off to SF at times. We're not saying he's an offensive threat now but the tools are right there along with the blueprint, its up to him to build it and we know he can

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (playaofthegame @ Feb 16 2008, 12:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I was hyping him up as a sophomore in college. And in December of 2006. At one point he was averaging 9.5 blocks per.

    Here's what I said

    03-11-2006, 01:49 PM
"Set a school single-season record with 63 blocked shots in 2004-05; blocked three or more shots in each of 10 games.

    http://bceagles.collegesports.com/sp...ms_sean00.html

He's got a fu*king amazing future heading his way...

He's a sophmore in college now..

He tied some career highs vs NC State earlier in the double overtime thriller..he had an amazing 9 blocked shots i believe..and helped along with craig smith lead the team to victory"

    12-29-2006, 06:56 PM
"he shouldn't jump to the draft next year and wait until after he graduates so he can be a high first rounder in the 08 draft

imagine a player like him with a full 4 years of college under his belt?

    19 points
    10 rebounds
    13 blocks

Sean Williams had a triple-double vs. Duquesne Thursday night.

    7.5 points per game
    7.5 rebounds per game
    2.5 assists per game
    9.5 blocks per game

    in 9 games

the numbers are only gonna get better"

Reflecting back on this..it really didn't make sense that the numbers would get better but maybe they can. Sean Williams is NOT a huge offensive threat though. I don't understand where you get this from? At Boston College he showed no signs of an offensive game and no signs of the chance to develop an offensive game. Honestly will he be anything more than a shot blocker that can pull down a fair share of boards a game? Be honest here.</div>
    what a horrible, horrible post.

I also understand if it comes from Nets fans, but when a stranger comes and claims we hype our players too much, that's just... too much!

yeah seriously, when your team has a doughboy like big baby, who all he does is lay the ball in and actually gets attention from ESPN, you should be that last to talk about having hyped players

Sean Williams is a man child. This guy can play. He doesn't have the greatest offensive game, but is an athletic freak. He can dunk the ball real well and looked to have a bit of an inside game in the rookie/sophomore game. I think he can be a real good player for us in the future, we have to build around him and hope that Krstic and or Boone could be good compliments towards him and maybe we could have a good frontcourt.

I'm kinda mad they didn't talk about Sean that much in the game. Most of the attention was on Horford, Durant, Yi, and Roy. Sean Williams could of had a shot at MVP as well. Maybe if the game was closer and he scored more and had one of the crazy blocks. Oh well, maybe next year.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (GMJigga @ Feb 15 2008, 11:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>He's got the tools, alright. It's only a matter of him figuring out how to use these tools; building the often talked about basketball IQ. He's a smart guy, so I have little doubt in my mind that he can learn the game. I think he's a bit too goofy and awkward for fantastic dribbling, but the midrange, and post up can come. As for rebounding, he can out jump just about anyone if he's in good position, but I often see him pushed out of position by players who are better at judging where the ball will land.</div>

In a game with defense, he would get the ball stolen 89% of the time if he attempted that dribbling.

I actually laugh because we were high on Splitter, McRoberts and Glen Davis.

    Loving Sean Williams.

But you guys seem to think he's some sort of hall of famer.... He's an excellent shot blocker, could be one of the best all-time and a decent rebounder. He doesn't have an offensive game whatsoever and without Jason Kidd he would score like 4-5 points per game. His offensive game is dunking....stop trying. Please it's just unrealistic expectations to put on the kid.</div>

75% of his shots, and 77% of his points are not from dunks. NEXT
    </div>

67% of his points are from inside/close, 21% of his points are from the free throw line.

So roughly 12% of his shots are from outside of 3 feet. NEXT
    </div>

He's a big man. What do you expect? Would you rather have him launching three's with RJ and Vince?

Sean Williams' game is unproductive and yet surprising at the same time. While most would anticipate assisted-dunk scoring, our anticipation ends not in immodest speculation, but analysis of his current level of game. Sean Williams has exhibited a level of play that is above the standard for a player of his supposed ability; he has striven to learn the game of basketball beyond what is expected of him, and we love him for it.

Umm.. If he was the best shotblocker of all-time I'm pretty sure he would have a chance on making the Hall of Fame. So it looks like your overrating him just as much as we are. And last I remember Sean killed Rondo in the open court Rajon couldn't even hit a lay-up cuz SWat came from the other side of the court n killed it. Rondo is a flat out joke. He plays good defense b/c he is fast. Problem is, to be a good PG you need to do other things like ya know.. have court vision and pass well, maybe shoot a lil bit, create for others, etc.

That's an absolutey insane play...Sean gets up in the air so quick...its ridiculous.

Honestly lately I've been seeing him rebound better, defend better and add different dimensions to his game. When the season started it looked like his only points would come from putbacks and lobs but now he has a nice little jumper and is facing up players to drive.

The kid's progressed so much so quickly...it's gonna really fun to see him further develop over the next two seasons. Who know's how high this kid's ceiling is...honestly Kmart wasn't really a great player til his 3rd season...imagine how far Sean can progress...it's crazy.
